Universal XCOM®: Enemy Within (by 2K)

Oh! That's SO great to hear!!!

I just started my 5th month. It's hard to find enough time to play this - it drains my battery like crazy, even with the brightness almost all the way down... but I'm LOVING it.

So much, in fact, that I deleted Enemy Unknown from my phone today even though I didn't have it backed up to my PC yet. I'm never gonna play it again. I wasn't sure when I first started... but yup... after my 2nd Exalt mission, I was done for, hooked - can never go back to Unknown again. =oP

Thanks. I hope i get through it with the new weapons and stuff in Enemy Within. I never really finished Classic ironman back in enemy unknown and I attempted it a LOT of times

 

Started a new game and making sure I collect as much meld as possible.. Not having enough meld was my downfall my first play through

 

I played through July and August today, saved when I hit September...

I'm in love!!

It's crazy how many more missions you go on per month compared to EU. As for Meld, I got lucky. I wasn't sure if I was going to use it, but now I've got 2MECs on my team and have augmented quite a few soldiers and am VERY glad that I was as to snag something like 18 of the first 20 Meld canisters this game.

Anyway...

I made a folder of games that I wanted to play through then delete, XCOM has got in the way of that. It's now pretty much the only game I play on my phone right now. I'm having dreams of alien battles... =oD

They added shadows for the newer devices. Wish i could make some comparison shots..

 

Niice! shadows! Also i hope i can login to Facebook now in the app, and hopefully no more crashes and auto delete of saved squads in multiplayer

 

So the shadows are only for the newest devices? 5S, iPad Air, and iPad mini 2/3 not included?

 

Shadows are only iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 / 6+

 

Still haven't updated as i haven't found a stable wifi connection. The wifi here at work sucks, so I'll probably wait til i get home tomorrow where i can update. Hopefully they also add the different languages for the soldiers. And any tips on classic ironman? I just lost again and it's my 3rd attempt. I'll be restarting a new run

 

I don't get it what kind of shadows are these, but if they mean by saying ''units shadows'' those ones on the ground, i had them on my iPad Air (and still have them) from day one. If they mean real time shadows to all over the body and armor of the units then maybe is a iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 feature.

EDIT: I search on You Tube and i saw video of EW that supposed to be played on iPad Air 2 and weren't anywhere shadows on the ground (units) in the time that as i said before i had them on my iPad Air from day one. So maybe there was just a bug on those devices that the update saying that put shadows now and not a new feature... Not sure, just saying...

 

I dont see anything different either but maybe its certain maps or areas?

 

Ohhhh, okay. Sounds like they just optimized the game for the newer devices, where it was already optimized for the older 64 bit devices

 

WOOO!!! So I finished my first EW game!! So pumped... The last battle was cake thanks to snipers and gene mods. Then again, I was only on Normal difficulty. =oP

I'm gonna try Classic now... But I'm definitely looking forward to maybe trying Impossible in the very near future.

I have been trying to find online games, but haven't had any luck. Maybe I'll be able to convince some co-workers to check the game out. =o/

I love this game. I just got my iphone 6 and have a host of games to try since my device can handle them. However, i cant put this one down. Any free time i have to play games on my phone is spent on this game cuz its so awesome.

Not sure about all of you, but i find this slightly more difficult than EU. I went on a similar path as EU and had Mexico leave on me. I think the only thing i missed was 2 UFOs at random times since my ravens werent powerful enough to shoot them down (i even saved before going after the ships, but they were too weak). Seems this game is a little less forgiving, but very much worth it.

Anyone have tips on a good country to pick/path to go especially early game that might be different than EU?

 

Just updated the app and imho those additional shadows made the game a lot more stunning visually

 

Don't laugh at me too hard... This is the very first time I will have played XCOM online. =oD
