LOL. But Iron Mans / Armored soldiers look cooler! Will you be gene modding? You should probably see how it looks first because maybe you'll like it? If you like it, there's no reason not to gene mod. It just costs Meld + $$, that's all. And time of course. Yeah you have to choose. Or you can do neither. I'm thinking 70-80% of my squad are pure bred.. lol. 1 Gene maybe and probably 2-3 Mechs at most. Meh.. I do that too.. A LOT. I want to beat the game this time and I'm not a super pro so I don't actually have the time to replace all my dead units from my failures If they didn't want you to do it, they would have removed in-battle saves. Besides, the game is meant to be played how you want it. There are plenty of options including Iron Man mode to make the game harder. Don't feel guilty about using what the game is letting you do!
You've got that entirely wrong. It's actually very cheap! This game is worth every penny, and then some. This ain't Angry Birds. And don't expect the price to go down.
I know that it says that the iPad mini is not compatible with this game in the description, but this game looks amazing and was hoping if it did work on the iPad mini well enough to play.
You probably can't even download or install it because they will undoubtedly have set the app installer flag for retina to required. But, even if you could, still would be out of luck since the older EU version just barely ran on the 4S class hardware also found in the iPad 2, touch 5G, and iPad mini 1G. The larger textures and better lighting effects in EW would choke those devices.
Iron man mode on and for this playthrough I named my characters based on Game of thrones and Guess what I just lost my first mec, Ned Starks.
This was posted on X-com Enemy Unknown forums in the past and because it still applies, here is a very useful infographic of how cover/flanking and LOS (line of sight) works in X-com. I learned a lot from this and I know you will too
You have to choose, but I think you can have some soldiers with mech armors and others with modified genes. At least you can build both installations to develop both techs. I don't think it will. Since I have a 4S and an iPad 3 (I obviously bought it for the latter), I'll try to install it on the 4S during the day (I can't atm) to see if it works, but I don't think so. Will let you know though.
Please make Joffrey a scout. He loves torture so I'm sure he'd enjoy getting shot. I don't even think a microscope would help you read this picture.. lol.
Thanks - wasn't aware that the TA forum saved I think only a thumbnail version of the image (it had an unusual LxW to begin with). Fixed it now, by placing an outside link to the actual image.
iPad mini 2 is the iPad mini with Retina right? If yes, that is one of the best at playing this game in addition to the iPad Airs.
Playing on an iPad Mini 2 (a.k.a iPad Mini Retina) and it runs perfectly. Smooth as butter, as they say. It's a nice improvement over XCOM: EU.
I just lost my whole squad of my best soldiers(normal weapons and no mechs or gene mods) with the exception of one man to those chrysallids in the fishing village during the second month. I always hated that mission. One by one they fell as each soldier vouched to stay behind as the enemy reared closer and closer desperately holding off the xenos to give their other squad members enough time to fall back to the evac zone. It felt like lone survivor with aliens... RIP my brave soldiers your sacrifices will not be in vain.
Xcom war stories like this are what makes xcom an amazing game, my Ned stark died in a blaze of glory while my lannisters are making sure the civilians are safe.
Installed on my 4S, saw the intro, clicked on new game, began loading and crashed. Therefore, it doesn't work, sorry...
