You are wrong, Eli said they don't get pre-release from 2K because TA disrespected their embargo on some other game. So TA bought this on release in MZ, "reviewed" it a couple of hours later.

iPad 2 I'm on an iPad 2 and I've played about an hour or so and it runs great...so far at least. I did a hard reset, I closed out any apps I had in the background and I also have over 5 gigs of free space left.....it seems to be running pretty smooth for the most part and looks fine. The movement and camera controls also seem to be working just fine for me as well so no complaints from me yet. I just wish multiplayer was already available... As someone who has played the console version I can say that I really like this version and am glad to have it on the touchscreen!
If you care to check out the whole thread almost all of the iPad3 users are happy with the game and love how it runs..If their words do not convince you check out the pocket gamer site because they have videos of play-throughs using iPad 3..I do believe someone posted an imbedded video here..
Just suffered my first major loss. RIP, Lt. Patrice "Blitz" Durand. After 6 missions with 13 confirmed kills, my best assault specialist is dead. Anyway, this game is absolutely fantastic. So much fun and value. To not get this is a waste of an iThing.
Wow this game is HARD, Canada already left me, i've got red on Japan, orange on china and mexico, only one satellite working since my 2nd one got shot down due to a lack of interceptors; and i only finished up to the 1st month. (playing on classic mode btw). But it is still VERY enjoyable! It's like the difficulty adds a whole lot to the enjoyment.
Have you bought this ? Do you know its 'laggy' ? We're a hard bunch to please, if its full of high-res textures and was 5 gig installed or only ran on certain devices people would moan at that. 'Ugly' ? Seriously ? In the Spiral thread you were asking for a lower res so it could possibly work on your ipod touch 4. So isnt that 'ugly' if they downgrade the graphics ? You seem to say one thing here and something else on the Spiral thread. Please do not carry on with your constant negativity as you have derailed many threads in the past. If you dont like it fine, comment and then move on. Just dont keep going on about it over and over.
How does this run in the 4s. I have seen this question being asked a lot but can't find an answer. Would be nice to know before dropping 18. Cheers.
If only the 'review' which is really just a hands-on first impression went into the downsides of the port on various devices rather than just going: "Yeah XCOM! 5 stars! Oh and some glitch ing but whatever. BUY IT AND GIVE US COMMISSION!"
Im playin on ipad mini and it's run great graphic wise it's not that bad still looks great im not gonna whine on graphic like a lot of people whine when Mortal kombat was released on vita i prefer dumbed down graphic but intact gameplay PS: it really looks great the thing that disturb me is that the lip of the soldier not moving when speaking, but it's only a minor thing Remember to turn off al apps and reboot the ipad to have a smooth game after you instaled it
I'm new to xcom and never cared for turn based games much but...I absolutely love this better than I could have imagined on my iPhone 5 running ios 7 I must say well worth the 20$!! I've been sucked in uh oh Japan is on red alert gotta go!! Lol
Decided to take a risk and buy this even though I'm using a 4s, and while it's playable, it's far from smooth. I did play for about 3 hours with no crashes but there are serious frame rate issues on the 4s.
Thanks for letting me know. Think I'll give it a miss. It's a pity cos I was really looking forward to it.
Yeah, 4s performance isn't stellar. At the start of the game it's quite playable, but I guess when things get heavier the game will crawl. On my iPad 4 though its a different story. I quite like the port. It's cut back graphically but it hardly looks dated. It also plays like a dream. I have a cranked PC version for comparison Two questions- can you change soldier colours? Also, do the iCloud saves work between devices? They don't seem to for me...

Ugly maybe but laggy no.. Low fps though, yes. Amazing so many people call games with low framerates 'lagging' Sorry but no, lag is directly related to latency and thus a game can only lag when you are playing online! What you mean is low fps or low framerate, not lag.
