"Despite the system not requiring it, developers will be able to create games that will not play offline" http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/21/4352542/xbox-one-always-online-not-required-used-games-work
Your welcome! I didn't want you get annoyed when you realise your PS3 games are not working in your shiny new PS4
Probably being a little too paranoid, but it's interesting. I guess MS really were going for an 80s vibe with the design. ...1984 to be exact.
Yes! You see it. I don't want a console war. But if the arguement is "Don't buy it then" then theres something wrong here. Fanboyism can only go so far. Used game fees stink. Think rental buisness and libraries. They will have issuses. Kinect stinks. The 359 steps back sounds right.
I'm more disappointed than anything else. I don't hate MS (although Ballmer seems determined to destroy it) and I love it when great consoles are released by anybody. But to me, games come before everything else and you've got to listen to what the gamers are asking for. This "console" sounds like they made a list of all the worst rumours then decided to add every single one of them. For a multimedia device I'm sure it'll be a decent machine, but I don't want that, and if I was a games developer the PS4 would seem like a much more serious gaming platform right now.
Boy, this thread is just wacked. Thanks, so basically seems like a guessing game on a lot of info. Well, carry on with the console wars....
But now they have a bigger temptation. I don't have the source, but a friend on Skype told me the Forza devs seem to really like the technology. Forza Online here we come.
Thought i should drop this in.. http://n4g.com/news/1262087/xbox-one-games-are-locked-to-xbox-live-accounts-but-theres-no-pre-owned-fee-report
Well that's one rung higher, I guess. Still, I have two PS3s in my house, both with different users. We swap games back and forth all the time.
It's already been reported that Sony's stock jump was unrelated to Microsofts xbox announcement http://kotaku.com/sonys-stock-jumped-up-following-microsofts-xbox-one-r-509106311 bottom of the page where it says Update:
Phil Harrison says differently: http://kotaku.com/you-will-be-able-to-trade-xbox-one-games-online-micros-509140825 Edit: I think Microsoft is as confused as we are, lol. Not a good sign.
That's exactly what i was thinking, they really should have been more clear. Though more information has come out, multiple users can access the same game on an xbox 360 console, which is good because it would have been strange if you couldn't. Oh and BTW to whoever thinks I am a MS fanboy, I am far from one. I own every console, ps3, wii u, xbox, vita, 3ds, ds, etc. I do not have a favorite. all are equal to me. It does anger me however if people get there facts wrong.
I did specifically make sure to say "fan" rather than "fanboy", just in case There's still a lot of speculation in the air though, I agree. If any of the negative info turns out to be false or misunderstood then that can only be a good thing.
