I kid you not. Mostly people that don't have as much access to the internet as it seems some folks do.... perhaps that's why they are predicting a positive outcome?
It's possible this coming holiday season might be prime time for me to get a Playstation 3. Being 5 years behind the technology curb has never paid off like it does with new systems launch - the "old" edition will be cheap and come will a half a decade of established games also discounted to bring on the shiny new "bling".
If you can, get one of the originals, that way you can play PS one, and PS 2 games as well. I have 2 of them, and they are both going strong.
That is definitely the way to go if you can manage it. We were late to the party on all our consoles and then you have a great library to choose from, lots of which are dirt cheap. But we'll probably get a Wii U this Xmas. PS4 and X1 sometime in the future. Probably not 5 years behind, though. Not this time anyway.
Interesting thought. Being "big" on games, I feel I need to keep up. I want to be playing games while they're being talked about, I want to find things that haven't already been found and be in a position to offer advice to those who need help. But for anyone in the position you mention... I could probably write a list of 100 games worth checking out.
I'd probably just list my PS3 games, I only regret maybe one or two purchases. A few are superior sequels to other games, but provided they're played in order I'd say it's still worth going through them all. Unless you know there's a particular genre you can't stand or something.
To be honest, the vast majority are multiplatform, so most of it could be an Xbox 360 list too. It'd be funny if a massive MS fanboy came in this thread after 36 pages of negativity and disappointment and started trying to counter everything we've been through.
I don't know about others, but what I see is gaming friends being broken up. Some are buying the Xbox One, some are buying the PS4, many are not buying either, at least not for quite a while. End result is long standing groups of gaming friends are not going to be playing games together any more. I wonder what effect that is going to have if any.
I'm seeing the total opposite! A grand unification. All of my friends who play PS3 are moving to PS4 and all of my friends who used to play 360... are moving to PS4. Sony have successfully taken so much of the MS crowd that it's easy to see where the community lies next gen, and everyone is welcome to join. Last time around it was more of an even split, this time around it's really just the Sony camp and a few stragglers.
I think I see what you're talking about, but I think it only applies to people playing games online. What the hell am I talking about? Everything is online nowadays What I was going to say is that just because people have different consoles doesn't mean they will be broken apart. But this is assuming the next generation will be like the one before this one, where multiplayer could be played in the same room, no matter what. Now I change this post into a cry for help, in that I wish gaming would get back to the couch multiplayer days. I really miss those interactions Online is fun, but when you're playing stuff in-person... it's so much more personal and fun. Even the crappiest games you can have fun with in local multiplayer, because you can just poke endless fun at them! Now I'm sad
Hey guys on Xbox one you can still play the old games as long as you have the hard drive who said you can't play them at all the Xbox conference people said you can still play them which doesn't affect anything and whichever one of you said you can't then you are WRONG!!!
