Apparently, if you get banned from Xbox Live, you lose access to all of your Xbox One games. Can't play them offline, because your licenses are forfeited. https://mobile.twitter.com/XboxSupport1/status/345338828606812160
Wow that's a lawsuit in the works I can imagine someone easily spending hundreds/thousands on games then Microsoft doing that. My moneys on Microsoft losing in court but I wouldn't want to go up against them.
I've got a friend on Facebook who's still convinced the Xbox One will "do better". I have no clue what's giving him the slightest bit of evidence towards that idea. It's debatable whether or not the 360 did better this round, and that started out with great PR. The Xbox One is against what could well be the worst PR a console has ever faced.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but apparently Microsoft's E3 demo's weren't even running off XboxOne hardware. Now I am aware that its not uncommon for companies to show unfinished builds of their games on DevKits and even comparable PC hardware but it appears the the XboxOne demo's were running on Windows 7 PC's with substantially higher specs than the XboxOne. Found the NeoGaf thread quite interesting to read: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=590486
The PS3 has surpassed the Xbox. It's selling better than the 360 in most countries, biggest exceptions being the US and UK.
That's precisely why I said it's debatable. Depends if you're measuring success on number of units sold or not.
Lol. What a piece of crap. Yeah, I preferred the Xbox One conference at E3 to the PS4 one, but that doesn't mean I like Microsoft any more. Their comments after E3 have effectively destroyed any chance of me picking a One up unless they clean up their act. Terrible, Microsoft. Just terrible.
Video evidence of Microsoft employees going to best buy WiiU demos to promote xbox One Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL What a bunch of pr!cks. They are so desperate they have to send people to stores to try and hinder WiiU sales? LOL Nintendo Power!!!
Sony laughs at your silly metahods microsoft. Desperation like this is crazy. Reputation management? More like reputation destruction.
I feel kinda sorry for the dude in the video. He clearly doesn't want to be there and probably wasn't even given answers to the questions he was most likely to be asked. I bet even he's looking forward to the PS4 and now his shitty employer has him standing around like an idiot getting flamed.
I'm starting to think I'm just going to skip the PS4 and Xbox One and get a Wii U. I'm starting to feel like I want to go back to Nintendo. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is a big part of that. It has rejuvenated my Nintendo love and really makes me wish I had my own 3DS (I'm using my kids'). I also got to try the Super Mario 3D Land (Wii U) demo and saw Mario Kart 8 (and, to a lesser extent for me, Wind Waker HD and Donkey Kong Country whatever) for Wii U and they are looking great. Somewhat surprisingly, MK8 was the most impressive for me. It looks pretty fantastic when you see it in person. I love the antigravity tracks and it made me chomp at the bit for some good MK racing again.
Yeah, it's quite entertaining. I do wonder how much of it is just a vocal minority, though. There are still lots of people out there predicting the Xbox One will really hit a home run with the same crowd that loved the Wii, aka "casual gamers." I don't believe it for a second, but... yeah. If the Xbox One does fail, that's not something we want either. As much as some of us hate it, the fact is that as long as it is successful, it will be good competition for developers to push the new consoles to their limit and make extraordinary ideas into exemplary videogames. But hopefully a backlash will make Microsoft rethink their stupid policies on the Xbox One. Maybe they'll release an offline update or something... I don't think anyone would complain if they dialed back the 10-console limit for an Xbox Live gamertag in exchange for offline possibility. There are so many unanswered questions regarding this Xbox One, too. When the servers are inevitably shut down, what happens to your games then? Can you still play them? And if Microsoft allows that to happen and you -can- play your games offline, why on Earth can't they just allow offline gaming right now? And also, about the games that utilize cloud-computing, will it be mostly visual fidelity stuff? Or will it be stuff that fundamentally change the gaming experience? Will the cloud computing be necessary to PLAY games that utilize it, especially later on in the life cycle? ...which begs the question, when the servers go down, will those cloud-computing games be considered worthless?
There are? I've barely seen a single positive article, even coming from "unbiased" media outlets. You'd think if it had a following that someone would have written about it.
