In the end I will likely have a Xbone too, especially if and when Dance Central appears on that platform, but I am looking at picking up a PS4 before that now. And actually a Wii U before that. Neither of the PS4 nor Xbone at release. I will likely wait for a price drop on the PS4 so I guess that's a few years, or at least wait for us to have some savings built up. Kind of hurting at the moment....
The console itself is ugly as hell. Reminds me of 1990s consoles. I thought Xbox360 was already ugly enough, man its successor is even worse. Can't sell or lend games? Wow wtf, games are account-locked? Has to maintain an internet connection for even single-player games?? So that means people can't carry their Xbox to places (like cottages) to play? Did the Nazis design this console?
Wow just watched forza 5 gameplay. Absolutely brilliant game. Love the idea of cloud powered opponents. Graphics are amazing.
No. I'm not. The AI in most racing games are as dumb as a bag of rocks. With cloud powered AI you get to race against realistic opponents. Don't forget this is Microsoft's top racing game. They can't fail or the console will go with it. It didnt work with rr3 because it was freemium. The AI was balanced to make you buy more upgrades.
It's an always-online single player game. On a console. That's like, the worst thing that could possibly happen. And for what? This is possible without cloud computing. In fact, the PS4 will have it too... simply connect to the internet and find some humans. Forza 4 and Horizon were both steps down from previous games anyway, this can easily fail.
Anyone see this? Oh my god... Just. Wow. It's actually real. http://www.dewanddoritos.com I still cannot believe... That this is actually a thing.

They just need to tell them they'll unlock an achievement for a day one Xbox One, nobody will be able to resist that sort of marketing genius.
They already have. "Reserve your Day One Edition today. Be first to experience Xbox One. The Day One Edition features a commemorative controller and an exclusive achievement. Available in limited quantities while supplies last."
Well I started with Forza 4, and IMHO Forza Horizon was a huge improvement. It's a really fun game. Lots to do and it's just plain enjoyable to play. I am disappointed that they look to be going back to the Forza 4 formula for the next installment, but maybe they are going to alternate. Somebody somewhere else had a good suggestion for MS: make it so that if you have the disc in the drive, no online check is required. You can then play any purchased disc games forever, whether you have internet or even if they some day shut down the servers. That would be a big improvement and seems like they could make a change to have it work that way.
I believe Forza Horizon was always intended as a kind of spin-off, which is why it wasn't simply Forza 5. The reason many people prefer 3 to 4 is because 4 gives you no sense of accomplishment (or if you do feel accomplished, you'd feel twice as accomplished playing 3) because it hands out cars and discounts like candy. Grid 2 has the same problem, before I'd even started I owned six cars and I didn't know what they all were because I hadn't seen them yet. I didn't give a damn about any of them. I didn't ask for them, I didn't see them in a showroom, lust over them and then save up my hard-earned cash to pay for them, they were just thrown at me like cheap toys. Need for Speed: Most Wanted has the same problem. As soon as you start the game you're free to find the fastest/best performing car and drive it. I stopped playing because I wasn't being rewarded with anything even remotely exciting. I hopped into the best cars, drove around and thought "Well that's the endgame content done", all within an hour of starting the game. Needless to say, the first three Forzas didn't have this problem, nor does Gran Turismo (and hopefully, Driveclub. Fingers crossed). When I get spend hours upgrading my cars on those games I feel a real attachment to them. We've been on long, arduous journeys together and as a car-enthusiast, that's the exact feeling you want from a racing game that allows you to collect cars.
I guess I don't have a problem with cars being handed out like candy. But I didn't like Forza 4 that much because it was more purely a racing game. I like the open world in Horizon and the variety of things to do, and the racing within it too.
This PS4 Playstation Eye tech demo is seriously cooler than anything I've seen of the new Kinect. Hopefully some developers actually use it this way. http://www.viddler.com/v/944416f2?secret=82898940
