The thing I've heard is that all of the headsets they have now will not be compatibable with the new controller. So that means I just wasted $300 on ASTRO A'50s for absolutly nothing. This is a joke. If PS4 Controller is compatible with prior headsets I'm deff selling my 360 and getting a PS4. I've been a Xbox guy since I sold my ps2 8 years ago and loved it ever since. But since I've heard all this stuff about being all kinect friendly and all this sports fanasty friendly, I've lost interest. They better pull off some great shit at E3 or I'm not buying the new Xbox One
If they were to use it I think they would use that for things like live UFC matches. But there's lots of patents that are made and never used. Apple does that all the time. Also it seems like it would trivial to defeat: just point the Kinect at the wall?
It has a dedicated chip purely for the recording stuff, but you're right about RAM, unless the chip has its own cache.
Interesting discussion - I voted for PS4 but may not get anything. If Xbox goes the way of a DRM like system, with required Internet, difficult rentals and/or used system, no ability to borrow to try something I definitely won't support that with dollars. Although same with Sony - If there are issues with used or rentals, I won't support that. I never play multiplayer, and could care less with cloud computing. A standalone system is ok with me.

One of the things that I find interesting about the new generation of consoles is that most of the games aren't going to look a whole lot better. Take for example Battlefield 4, when I look at that I don't see a whole lot of room for visual improvement. Don't get me wrong there is space for improvement, one needs to look no further that new Nvidia tech Demo to see that you can really crank visuals up a couple more notches. With the increase in visual fidelity though comes a large increase in cost of development, and I just don't see publishers willing to exponentially increase their investment on a vast majority of titles so that they can support 4k resolutions and uncanny valley type visuals.
Personally I'd like to see more focus on performance and stuff like physics engines/liquid simulation rather than just ramping up texture resolution.
