The 5th top selling game of all time is Duck Hunt? DAMN YOU NINTENDO! You promised us Wii Duck Hunt! One of the first things shown off with the Wii was a rough outline for a game that could have become duck hunt but instead became that lame shooting gallery game in Wii Play. They Showed off a Zapper controller that looked like the one the real NES one, not some watered down piece of crap with two handles. The Wii is the perfect platform for light gun games and they can't even do that one simple thing right. Yeah, my Wii is softmodded so I can play all those old NES Zapper classics but I shouldn't have had to do that. I would have paid them $5 a piece for Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley but NO!! I know it's only on the list because it was a pack in with the NES but that does not discredit my angry, angry point.
I must say, I do enjoy playing SMB Wii, Wii Sports Resort, and Mario Kart Wii from time to time. It's a great console to have if you've got friends right there in the room to play along with. The Wii's got its high points, game-wise. But I don't think I'll ever forgive Nintendo for putting "Party Babyz" on the console.
I don't think that's right. Sony and Microsoft were losing money on each console, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo was at least breaking even and I think in the past year hit a point where they make profit from the consoles, with the reduced cost of the components. That's just as I recall it, could be way off on the actual statistics of it.
Ah. Well, I was just basing it off of what I'd heard through the hole in the wall. Perhaps you are the one who is right. EDIT: Yeah, you're right. Now that I've taken the time to search for it, Nintendo was the only one breaking even at launch. Shows how much I know. At least now the 360 breaks even with each unit. PS3 still doesn't.
I'm 19 years old man, and your argument is truly godawful. Saying that a game is not "mature" because it doesn't have blood is really, really stupid. Saying that Metroid is geared toward younger players is even more stupid. I hope you are not 30 years old, as you said you are, because I'd feel sorry for someone who has that type of mentality. By the way, Metroid could be one of the most mature-- scratch that, hardcore franchises in gaming, and that claim goes back to my level design arguments. A kid is going to have a real hard time playing that game, because it has a level-design that's built for people who want to think and exercise their brains, and can handle a real challenge. Like I said before, game design like that is so much harder to pull of than your average linear shooter with a few ordinary puzzles here and there.
Bla bla bla, Metroid, bla bla bla, level design, bla bla bla, I'm a gigantic nerd that lives in my uncle's basement because my mom kicked me out of her's bla bla bla.
I really don't care anymore. I don't know how much more clear everyone can be with you. I've owned all 3 Prime games, bought all of them on day 1. I enjoyed them very much, although by the third one I thought it was a little tired. I mean honestly, playing off the whole light/dark version of a character is so cliché at this point. But still I think they're all great games. Mine, and I'm sure most other peoples problem with your contributions here are that you're saying "Prime 3 is better than Uncharted 2, it's a proven fact" when in reality that's impossible to prove. Why can't you just acknowledge that someone likes Uncharted 2 more than Prime 3? Do you have stock in Nintendo, and are contractually obligated to defend their titles 'til the bitter end on the internet? Just let it go, man. I'm very happy for you and your enthusiasm for Metroid, so why don't you go have a Samus love-fest and play all 3 of them back to back, instead of coming in here and belittling people's intelligence to nurture your superiority complex. kthx.
Imma remind u this is a iphone forum. If ur going to get this much into an arguement in a IPHONE INTERNET FORUM then...wow
You have a point here man. Is not like I can get a good debate with people that hardly know what they talk about. Oh well
I've got a quick question 'bout the 360: Has anyone had any problems as to ridiculously scratched disks? My 360 just totalled my brothers copy of Lego Star Wars. I sent an email to Microsoft to see what's going on, but according to Wikipedia, Kassa did an investigation on it in 2007, and the 360 just spontaneously scratched a couple discs. RROD, I can kinda live with, but now my $60 games are going down the drain
C'mon, now... Refer back to the seventh grade science class you took a mere seven years ago... Scientific Method: A theory cannot be proven as fact unless a test can be run on it and produce the same result every time without fail. You, sir, have taken a huge step in trying to prove that it is a fact that Metroid Prime is better than Uncharted 2. You have yet to produce a test of any kind that will prove to us that this is, indeed, a fact. I suppose that you wish to prove to us that horoscopes having the ability to predict your future is a fact, as well? Or perhaps that orange is a better color than blue, and that dinosaurs all had magenta skin with purple polka-dots?
You really don't get it, don't you? Why should I even waste my time explaining something that you'll never understand. It's like explaining rocket science to a baby. Refer to a few posts that I've made a couple pages back, and try to come up with your own conclusion.
