WWDC is tomorrow and I'm sure that much like myself, many of you are excited to see what Apple has in store for iOS 6.
I'm hoping they update Apple TV to allow 3rd party apps, all the rumoured updates in iOS 6 sound a bit boring.
Damn, iOS 6 seemed pretty amazing to me. Excited to upgrade in the fall. Also happy to see that Gamecenter is coming to Macs now so cross-platform online gaming will be a blast.
Functionally maybe better (benefit of doubt), just think they look very plain and lack detail. I'm just going on photos like below.
I just read a feature that lets you enter phone number and apple ID to answer calls on iPad. Is that any phone you can use, or will it be iPhone only? Also, is it US only, or worldwide?
The maps app looked great. There was no where to go but up, though. Google wasn't going to make Maps better for Apple, that's for sure. The updates look great, but I wish we didn't have to wait until the fall. Oh well.
So iOS 6 will not support the iPad 1? This is devastating news. The newer iPads are expensive and the iPad 1 is perfect for what I use it for. Now all the new games this fall will be iOS 6 and my iPad will be lowly iOS 5. This stinks
I agree IOS badly needed navigation of some sort built in but I just think google maps tells you a lot more in regard to street names, businesses, landmarks etc. Not that it will effect me anyway as now the 3rd gen ipod and first iPad are officially deceased and I'm actually relieved about that as the IOS 5 update was a nightmare upgrade.
Nothing too interesting from WWDC for me. Not getting a new MacBook for quite a while since I have the latest Pro. iOS 6 and ML, meh.. I just want the iPhone 5 already. Might get an iPad 3 soon though, heh.
Well I think the iPod 3 is quite a bit faster than the 3GS as well. Plainly it's really a case of Apple cutting support for devices they don't sell anymore, It will be the 3GS and probably 4th Gens next time. Really just an attempt to make people upgrade and little to do with the hardware, I've already replaced my iPod for most things anyway.
The iPad 1 is much slower than an iPad 2. I tend to doubt that iOS 6 would work well on it given how each OS is more resource intensive than the last. My son has a 2011 Android phone and ICS is not available for it.
That's a fair point but I'd argue the first iPad is at least as fast as the 4th Gen Touch which is still supported and easily more capable than the 3GS. But if I owned a 3GS or even a 4th Gen Touch I probably wouldn't want to update on it, it's going to be hit and miss at best if IOS 5 was anything to go by.
It's weird to say that iOS 5 was hit or miss on your devices, yet iOS 6 should be made available for it or it's a conspiracy. LOL. Maybe they have tried to make it for it but the results weren't good?
