    Australia, mate!
But these ads aren't pop-ups so how can these plug-ins block them?

Have to be honest I haven't seen them myself but I have noticed the adblock extension for chrome actually lists blocking them as a feature. Seems a little strange google allows that in their own browser maybe all versions of adblock are doing it.

I've been using chrome quite a bit recently I resisted for a long time but it is an excellent very fast browser.

I dont know if something changed in last couple of months but when i last tried chrome, it couldnt handle my bookmarks. Scrolling through them was way too much of a pita to bother using it again.

Edit: Tried it again. Its version 12.0.742.91 (which it says is the latest one though I dont really remember downloading an update). Bookmarks scrolling is even more shittier than what I remember. Pile of garbage IMO.

Bull. It may seem pretty fast in the beginning, load up 20 tabs and then it's slower than a tortoise.

Firefox, on the other hand, may start up slow but man, is it fast and stable. I'm running Firefox 5 beta, 14 tabs total open, and I've experienced 0 slowdowns and 0 crashes. That is pretty incredible. And not to mention, I won't have to scroll past a long list of tabs since it has Tab Groups.

Oh and also, adblocking sucks in Chrome. And I can't do without my adblocking.

I've had temporary freezing with Firefox ever since moving to Mac. As a page is loading, nothing responds at all... I get the spinning umbrella of terminal annoyance. Then once the page has loaded it springs back to life. Incredibly annoying when opening a bunch of tabs at once, but I still can't bring myself to ditch Firefox.

My experience is I used Firefox since the early betas then noticed it starting to get more sluggish as time and versions went on then later switched to pale moon hoping to get some of the earlier speed back.

Last few months I've been giving both Safari and Chrome a try instead and I think Chrome is miles ahead of all of them in terms of pure speed. Safari is as slow as Firefox but tends to crash a lot (windows machines).

At the minute I have Chrome and Palemoon installed on my computers but I've started using Chrome exclusively now.

I've tried Chrome and found it a lot slower than FF, at least the way I'm using it (constantly 50+ tabs open). It might be faster with 1-2 tabs, but even then, I don't see many advantages.

I still can't figure out how I'd ever manage to get more than 15 tabs open at most :p If I get anywhere near ten that usually means there are about 5 I'm done with and should be closing.

It's just.. faster this way. One for every site I visit several times daily. I couldn't get by with less.

How do you search through 50+ tabs then? It seems to me even having them all open would consume time when you have to search for the one you want like a deck of cards. Getting to the website I want takes no more than cmd+T and then the first two or three letters of the website, about 2-3 seconds max.

All you do is organize your tabs into groups and when you go to your groups, you can begin typing away and it highlights the tab/s you were searching for. I find it faster than opening a new tab and then typing in. All I have to do is hit the shortcut to bring up Tab Groups and then type in a few keys and press enter. Or I can just select the drop down menu to the side of the tab bar.

It sounds almost identical to me. Hit a shortcut and type a few letters... you can do that to search tab groups or to open a new tab and search your URL history, but I'm pretty sure your way comes at the cost of slightly lower performance, however slight. It would for me anyway, I can't imagine FF performing well on my Macbook with that many tabs open. Plus it would inevitably begin to eat at CPU/RAM other programs might need, such as Photoshop.

Still, I guess it's nice that Firefox gives some people the option to choose the manner in which they browse.
