Pretty cool if you ask me. BazookaTime Well-Known Member Sep 30, 2009 5,340 1 36 Kansas http://www.paulmcraelind.com #4 BazookaTime, Nov 7, 2012 Game is awesome, I love it. I would just suggest you look adding content, more wrestlers would be awesome and maybe a deep one player mode as well. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #5 metalcasket, Nov 7, 2012 While incredibly simple and "shallow" on the outside, there's an incredibly solid gameplay mechanic that provides a much deeper experience than you'd think. Trying to figure out the physics while working with the environment (slopes, corners, etc) in each of the levels (randomized arenas, if you will) is just plain fun and the whole game is quite obviously put together with a lot of love. If you're looking for a game to sink hours and hours into, look elsewhere, but what you have here is an incredibly solid, simple, 1 minute-lasting $1 multiplayer game with no "32 flavors of bullshit" (as Gabrien says) that works perfectly fine as it is, but if the developer is willing to expand...this could really go places. I'm thinking a very basic one on one multiplayer mode over Game Center with a Win-Loss record is all this needs right now. Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #6 Gabrien, Nov 7, 2012 I must concur with all of the above. I'll also add that the game is a lot more fun to play than to watch, and probably only really shines in multiplayer. Won't let you download on devices "without gyroscope," oddly, and crashes on the iTouch 4. (But what doesn't?) Also, the guy you quoted up there, really knows his stuff. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #7 metalcasket, Nov 7, 2012 He also fights like a cow. :3 No, but really...there's something about this game. I've played maybe 100 rounds in the last couple of hours, and can't seem to put it down even though there's absolutely no sense of progress or anything. After maybe the 10th time playing, I was like "Alright, how big is this? Time to delete it. I've seen and done everything." But...I...just...can't. Everything about the game is just stupidly perfect, you just seem to forget that there's not much to it and play over and over and over and over again. Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #8 Gabrien, Nov 7, 2012 Yeah, it's because they got the physics just right, and with minimal input there are still almost infinite possibilities. No two games are the same, etc. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #9 metalcasket, Nov 7, 2012 Yep, that's exactly how I would've put it: Just right. Really, really satisfying. Redegard Member May 11, 2009 20 0 0 #10 Redegard, Nov 7, 2012 Wow, never imagined my old Sumo Hoppers footage on Youtube would actually be of any use. It is actually one of my favorite games ever, though a bit difficult to get up running these days (DOSBox would probably work if you're into that) - you should all give it a try; this is how a true versus fighting game should look like. Brilliant physics and freedom of control (well, leg-control that is). If you play Wrestle Jump, imagine having possibility to have full control (stretching, angle, etc.) over your legs instead of just "kick or not" (what do you call it?) as is the case there. Each player uses 8 keys on the keyboard, which makes two player games a beautifully cramped experience. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #11 oooooomonkey, Nov 7, 2012 So does this work on iPod 4g or not? I'm the creator of Wresle Jump and will gladly answer any questions you have! Thanks for the feedback so far! The game currently supports iPad 2 or newer or iPhone 4 or newer. The whole list of supported devices is on Wrestle Jump's App Store page (on the left column). Wrestle Jump is indeed inspired by The Fight of the Sumo-Hoppers and hopefully will bring back good memories from those times for the fans of Sumo-Hoppers More levels will be added in the next versions of Wrestle Jump and I'd gladly hear other imporvement ideas as well! Hiipi Active Member Oct 28, 2009 40 0 0 Graphics Dude Tampere, Finland #13 Hiipi, Nov 7, 2012 Excellent game. Played it with my workmate and almost immediately wished there would be cooperative levels as well - not trying to bash each others' heads in but to hop for a common goal. Anyway, awesome fun! oivoi Well-Known Member Aug 22, 2011 99 5 8 Pirkkala, Finland https://www.ottoojala.com #14 oivoi, Nov 7, 2012 Thanks a lot!! Kyynel New Member Nov 7, 2012 1 0 0 #15 Kyynel, Nov 7, 2012 This is the best 2-player game I've played on iOS so far. You will see everything it has to offer in 3 minutes, but everything just works and is fun to play. I went around the office and challenged people to wrestle jump duels. Everyone learned to play in 10 seconds and laughed a lot. This isn't a game you will play for hours on straight, and if you're only going to play solo, it's likely not worth it. But if you have a friend and 5 minutes to waste, this is probably as concentrated as fun gets. It's a keeper for me. Great job. The ice levels seemed kind of easy to miss completely, since they're enabled from the settings I usually don't bother to check. :/ oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #16 oooooomonkey, Nov 7, 2012 By the way people the dev was nice enough to send me a promo code to try it out and I'm sad to say its not working on my iPod touch 4G iOS 6.1 Just a heads up if you were wondering. Hopefully this can be fixed soon as it looks pretty cool. It should have been "Time to play the game!" oivoi Well-Known Member Aug 22, 2011 99 5 8 Pirkkala, Finland https://www.ottoojala.com #17 oivoi, Nov 7, 2012 Thanks, Kyynel! That's awesome news!
