Yes, it will be freemium but you really won't need to spend money to unlock the levels and play through the game. We have an ad that you can watch in order to obtain nitros, and a few cars that will be unlocked for $0.99 but that's about it.
Here's a new video, please let me know what you think, thank you. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
So will there be objectives with this, or is it more of a Turbo Dismount style of play, as in really doing whatever you want with the only goal being destruction?
The objective is simply to cause as much destruction as possible. You're awarded points for each car based on the damage and you can earn a maximum of five stars per level. Certain levels will have an oil tanker that you'll need to crash into and explode in order to get five stars.
Here's a new video showing two races from start to finish. We've updated our physics model to allow for larger accidents from the cross traffic. Hope you like it. The game is on schedule for release in about 1 month. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
It appears that this has yet a ways to go before release graphics--wise and polish--wise. And had a laugh when, right after a crash, the camera panned around a berm wall and then you're unable to see anything on the street at all! (you had to see it) Definitely some work ahead for this one. Hope it gets done so this is good!

I definitely still don't like the way the cars come apart! Whole perfect body pieces flying all over like that--doesn't do anything for me at all. No good! Doesn't look like I'm gonna bother with this one. Fire looks good, though.
I am really looking forward to this. It's come on leaps and bounds since you first showed it to us looks very impressive!
What are you expecting/hoping for? I don't quite understand but we can possibly make some tweaks if you describe what you're hoping to see.
He probably wants to see the cars bend to the way they are hit and some denting like procedural damage on the cars but I think it's a great game.
The cars do bend the way they are hit...they dent and deform based on impact, which causes a heavy load on the processor...this is why you see the game stutter when the crash occurs. We're trying to find a good balance between deformation and performance. Here's a quick video showing the car metal bending based on impact.
