For an amatuer writer its really, really good. And the fact that I actually bothered reading through the first page means it's quite good, because I usually don't bother reading books, I can just read the first page to know if I will like it or not, and so far I'm liking this one. I also find it very interesting to contemplate life, living, and its purpose. And I like reading others contemplations of life too. It's a very intriguing subject.
Thanks for the kind words Part of the reason I chose first person was to make him retrospectively looking at his life seem more genuine. I'm hoping to have his contemplations and wanderings come off as relatable and human, rather than the words of some omnipotent narrator.
Been writing this week, it's coming along nicely. I like the plot of this one, but I might switch it to third person, just for ease of writing, and to help keep the flow of the story a little better. As far as monetizing it, writing is an incredibly competitive field, so I don't really expect it to be a best seller or anything, but I'm hoping it'll grab a decent fan base, at least enough to provide some exposure with reviews and suggestions, things like that. Depending on the length, I might go for an ebook format if it's a series of short stories, or a full novel/novella if it ends up on the longer side, if I can polish it enough for an author to bite. I'll keep you guys posted here, if anyone is still interested.
