Announcing "WOTA: Seehund Type XXVIIb" (A kind of special preview version of WOTA) (Video shows the current water running on the iPhone 3GS) "WOTA: Seehund Type XXVIIb" will be the first release of the "WOTA: Wolves of the Atlantic" series. It's about midget submarines only, so you can think about it as a kind of reduced version of the final WOTA subsim - to increase development speed it will offer less types of enemy ships and because it's about midgets it will use a portion of the map limited to the historical area of operations and range of the Seehund. You want to help me to finish the project(s)?: Just spread the word! Now to answer the most important question: WHEN? The plan is to submit it to Apple in Â…(EDIT: when the damned thing is finished)... . Which means you possibly won't see that many types of ships in the initial release of the midget subsim.
For those who don't like facebook - I've added a google+ page for WOTA. https://plus.google.com/117020518808592382271
I'll squeeze out everything of iPad1, iPhone/iPod touch 4 & 3GS what's possible - these devices are most tricky and use the same graphics chip while each has its own kind of drawback (for example 3GS is CPU bound, iPad1 is GPU bound). The target is to let these devices run at the low end of playable fps for this kind of genre. The resulting large headroom due to the extra amount of RAM, CPU and GPU power of the newer devices is used for slightly improved graphics and higher fps.
Can't wait for this. This is my most anticipated game for next year. Silent Hunter 3 for the iphone, so hard to believe!
Thank you, but as said before the first version will be about the Seehund midget submarine only. The version with type VII etc. comes later.
Yes, the email about your comment just stopped the development for a few seconds. *returning to work*
I'll post more new screenshots and a movie in some days 12/2013 - Current visual state of the game (quality settings of iPhone 4S / iPod touch 5)
I've literally followed this game since it was announced almost what 4 years ago now. Really think it looks great. One day I'll play it. But being a one person dev I know it takes time.
