    Anybody heard anything on a Release Date for this game???

    Hello,

    I can't tell more than it is still in the works and that the release is planned for 2010.
    First iPad tests forced me to change the environment (problems with alpha shaders on the iPad & retina resolutions).
    You can subscribe to the newsletter (on the homepage) or join the facebook page too.

    I heard this game will only work for 3GS and up. (ipad, iPod touch 3G and iPhone 4G)

    Is this true?

    Yes that's true. It will need devices with 256mb RAM, I tried to support the older devices but the ipad and iphone 4 screen resolution and the resulting problems with alpha shaders and the fillrate forces me to change the environment in a way that requires much more memory. the good side is that i can use a lot of more and better assets & eyecandy with more memory now.

    So will it use retina display resolution on the iPhone 4 (960x640)?

    New waves and first test of the new floating system (no other eyecandy like sky, foam, far away waves etc. - just waves and 2 submarines) - runs at 60 fps on the iPad. Movie taken from iPad screen with iPhone camera.

    That looks great. The wave physics look fun and the sea looks much better now.

    Love the wave motion effect, looks very realistic. Looking forward to this release immensely. :)

    So any idea of a release date anybody? Any word of if it will support Retina Display and 4.0 multitasking?

    Last I read was that this game has been pushed to 2011 because mark has some side projects. Go to the wota facebook page if you want to see for yourselve.

    So now its 2011? So most likely an iPhone 5 game? Developer might as well wait for iPhone 5 specs to be officially released.

    Yes, working atm to fund WOTA developing time.
    Joining the WOTA Facebook page is always a good idea to get updates about development or joining the newsletter on the homepage (but there was only one newletter so far)

    No, not an exclusive iPhone 5 game. All ARM7 based iOS devices will work. (iPhone3GS, iPod touch 3 (not the entry model), iPod touch 4, iPhone 4, iPad and later). But I must say the Alpha Shader / Fill Rate Problem on the Retina Display and on the large iPad screen makes development much harder.
