Hi all, just joined and this is my first post.

I was thinking of upgrading my contract and getting the Iphone 4, figured it would help with developing. Currently got a 3gs, anyhow I would like some opinions, not sure whether or not to wait for the Iphone 4/5. Is it worth the wait do you think?

    Thanks

If it was me I'd try to hold on I'd expect Apple to Announce some Iphone 5 details pretty soon now I think at the very least it will be dual core probably similar to the Ipad 2 in specs only trouble with that is it still leaves it less powerful than some other phones so if Apple really want to keep customers they may up the specs even more.

I've been waiting on seeing details of the next ones myself but I'm drifting closer and closer to buying a Samsung device I really like the Galaxy S2 and the Note looks even better.

There's absolutely no basis for this but I think Apple is going to release both an iPhone 4S with the A5 and an iPhone 5 with a larger screen, better camera and even faster processor (probably a 1.2GHz dual core) before the end of the year. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but something has got to be coming soon.

actually, i believe that in testing software, it is better to use old hardware, see if your code runs on the old equipment before checking on the new.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback, I do follow the idea that its best to test on older devices, I work for a digital agency in London and that is the approach we use for testing. I think I may wait and see what the new IPhone 4s/5 is like when its released and then potentially get that.

    Thanks

    Oliver

There was a leak here in the UK with a retailer (Argos or someone?) which had a date for the iPhone 5 and that it would be in black and white colours at launch.
