Hi everyone! I'm Rachel, I'm the general dogsbody at UK-based Quarter Circle Punch Game Works. We're releasing our first iOS game, Wonton 51, on Tuesday 25th October (this Tuesday!) and we're pretty excited about it. We're an indie crew and a bit of an eclectic team. Our artist and designer is a professional game designer who is about to lose his job at EA due to a studio closure, and our programmer and audio guy is an expert on cybernetics and a wicked drummer. Wonton 51 is an old-school style Japanese food themed shoot'em up (why not?) in which the hero, Jonny Powerslide, must mech up and save his girlfriend, Cookie McToots from the evil Baron Wonton and his gang, the Wonton 51. We're basically hoping it's going to make your mouth water and your eyes bleed.
Holy hell. I'm one of the developers on this and we've just had this go live in Japan and New Zealand. I've had a history of working on console titles and one day you just stop working on the game and someone higher up submits a build to Microsoft and then one day it appears on a store shelf. Guiding this game through all of its development and submission by hand has been super weird as there isn't the sense of disconnect that there is with the multi million dollar games I'm used to. If you want to check this out it is rolling out across app stores by region now.
