Can’t get enough of this game. If you need to grind you can grind out some coins to progress which I like a lot. I would like if there was an indicator to tell me if an upgrade or new status is available . Seems like going to the main screen is th only option. I could be wrong. Also this game is an obvious hit and the developer is doing it all right. At least that’s my opinion. The more I play the more I get involved and don’t want to stop. I really don’t want to update because I like to grind out aspect when things are challenging to get good enough upgrades. Glad to see the dev checking out this thread and answering or acknowledging everyone’s posts . Shows they are in it to make everyone’s experience better.
@PuppetDepot Do you know when Apple will feature you? I would love to see it! Also, in a future update, can you show the character's level and exp gain in the map inventory screen? This seems like it should be there but you have to go into battle to see it. It's somewhat inconvenient but it would be nice if you could add this in the "outfit" screen.
Wonder blade now is in New Game We Love on US appstore And apple contacted me yesterday and asked me for Game of the day's art assets. I thought maybe next week I'll see it on the front page, but maybe not. I just hope I'm lucky enough And add level and exp in map scene is easy, I'll add it, cheers!
@PuppetDepot Would still love to hear whether you will be adding cloud save or not. Initially played on my iPhone but would love to transfer my progress to my iPad. Thank you.
It's already a popular game in Touch Arcade. But it would be better if the reviews related to Wonder Blade come out in Touch Arcade.
Wow @ all the posts complaining about this game‘s difficulty (before the update). Really goes to show how streamlined today‘s gaming has become that one challenging boss leads to such an outcry. I‘m really no miracle player at sidescrollers or beat ‘em ups but I still don’t know what the big deal (especially about the 2nd boss) was. You just have to observe the boss’ patterns, don’t forget about dodging, equip one or two healing potions and the fight was absolutely manageable. At the latest after a few attempts. Not happy about the update that just generally toned down the difficulty. The vast majority of today‘s games is either pretty easy or pay2win and especially because of this I‘d really have preferred if the dev had just implemented different difficulty levels like Heat Pot Games did with Hero Emblems. Was the same with that game which also was an absolute gem (just like WB) - And if you paid attention it actually even was rather easy to get through it. But instead people whined and moaned (similar to WB now) that Hero Emblems was too difficult - As a result the devs just implemented an easy mode though. Would have definitely preferred the same route for this game (if you can choose a difficulty level after Wonder Blade’s newest update I‘m certainly not seeing it). Maybe, playing games for over 25 years now, I‘m just getting too old for today‘s market but I‘d have preferred to keep WB‘s difficulty from before the update. Wouldn‘t have minded a slider for everybody to choose the level he’s comfortable with but just toning down the whole challenge because a certain percentage of people can‘t deal with a rare demanding game also isn‘t the golden solution. And reading through several pages of this thread I‘m sure that I wasn‘t the only one who was more than ok with the initial difficulty level.
Good post. The good thing about the wild boss being toned down is that later bosses (while not as hard as the wild boss) are no walk in the park either, so there’s not TOO much to worry about as far as the entire difficulty of the game is concerned.
had in mind to buy it, but i assumed that after the update it would become too easy... damn lazy teens!!! anyway, don't think i'll take it unless the dev gives us on option to switch between old and new difficulty.
As psj would say back in the day, “Developers just can’t win”. One moment people are complaining that the game is too hard, the next? The game is too easy. Oh hell, what am I saying? This was bound to happen. PuppetDepot, good luck. *facepencil’s self*
Trust me, the game is still challenging, and I think it's a moderate difficulty now, and you'll enjoy it
Yeah, lazy me who spent 3+ hours trying to beat the same boss. I’m guess I couldn’t be bothered to put in the work to learn the bosses pattern (Is that what you have to do to beat a boss in a game? You don’t say). In any event, the game is still challenging. The thing is, folks who had trouble with the second boss ended up leveling up way beyond what you would expect at that stage of the game, so we’re overpowered for the bosses that follow — so the game feels easier. I think anyone starting the game as it is now will see a smoother difficulty curve and an enjoyable challenge. Not every game needs to be Dead Cells .
Don‘t worry Gwarmaxx, the game is still challenging, just not as much as before. But it‘s still no walk in the park all of the sudden and with all the devotion and ideas that went into this game the dev definitely deserves every sale he can get. Never said Wonder Blade’s too easy now. Just not happy about the general difficulty having been toned down because of a certain percentage of people confusing a good challenge with too hard a game. And the dev could easily have won with just implementing different difficulty levels, that way everybody would‘ve been happy by being able to use the one he wanted. Hope that still comes to fruition because other than this issue the game is great and the level of involvement and customer service PuppetDepot is showing here in this forum is nothing short of exemplary.
What’s wrong with having difficulty settings? A lot of games have Easy, Normal, Hard, for example, and have had them since the beginning of digital gaming.
Yeah that‘s what I don‘t get either. Metalcasket had a good point in saying that you inflame one group of people if you tone down the difficulty and another if you do the opposite. So why tone down the difficulty at all? Just use - as you said - hard, normal and easy mode (which is probably best achieved by just lowering or increasing the HP of mobs and bosses and/or the DP of the player - Suppose wouldn’t be too complicated to implement) and most people would be satisfied. Would certainly be better than just decreasing the whole challenge for everybody because of a loud minority.
