Go back and read my posts dude. I was initially just as mad as you, and then warmed up to the boss fight and said one could argue that it's fine, but it could use fixing. C'mon...we go WAY back, you know me better than this. Anyway, I think pulling the update and rebalancing is definitely the best course of action ('coz seriously...being able to breeze through this in a couple of hours without a single challenge will basically render it forgettable in a matter of days) and YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS APPLE FEATURE BAYBAY~!
I finally beat that fish boss! It actually only took about 4-5 tries. The only reason I couldn't beat it sooner was because the lead up to the boss takes so long. I noticed a lot of beating the boss battles makes use of i-frames. That's the way I beat the fish. Predict movements and roll into the boss right as he attacks. I'm totally okay with that but the traditional jumping to dodge is left out so that might be something that should be changed for people who don't know about i-frames. Really enjoying this game a lot! The only thing I want *a lot* is to let enemies take damage on the ground. That's the only thing I dislike in the entire game. It ruins my flow when I can't keep comboing them. I should be able to knock them back in the air and do some crazy combos but once they fall over I have to stand there and wait for them to get up. It's unfortunate. I also get hit the MOST from waiting for enemies to get up, then they hop up and whack me after their momentary invincibility. This ties into the misleading "Y finisher" that can't be used if the enemy is laying on the floor :\
Simply put, AMAZING game!!!! I would love to list all the reasons I love it, but too busy playing this masterpiece! PLEASE support this dev - quality like this on the App Store is few and far between!
Actually I think the issue is only that it is not obvious that you should stack potions before to fight the second boss. If the shop was made accessible on the map before the second boss it would be a lot easier for players to guess that they can do this. Once you have a few options the second boss is not that hard.
the common guards at the scientist stage are relentless. I am stuck there atm. Yes please ground attacks and also make the flying enemies attackable from the ground. They are at ground attack level yet they cant be hit unless you jump and its a bit confusing. That missed attack can cost you a bit with the wasps but the jetpack laser dudes really punish you for it.
Is this anything like Dragon's Crown? Because I love that game and this looks very similar (perhaps not in art style but in gameplay).
About flying enemies you can use jump Attck, Jump spin(tap B in the air) or fireMagic to take him down, or ↑ + A can also too, and then use combo to take it away Every attack has a chance to shoot him down, here has a Air Combo I‘d like to use can achieve high combo hits :Jump then A, A, A, A, B, X(with fire magic), hope can help you
I've beaten all the challenge. Thank you to make this wonderful game. In return, I wrote a Chinese introduction to tell others about this fantastic game. But I am still wondering about the logic of the haunted house. Which portal could take me to the right place
This game remember me one I play a long time on co-op with my wife. I don’t remember the name of that game, only flashbacks with my character jumping and spinning a sword on the air and taking weapons from the enemy... A premium game like this... I know.. it’s a very generic and vague memory.. I trying to find that game on my purchase list from the AppStore but, a lot of the old games are pulled from the store. Only the Icon survive... I felt like I was in a cemetery... But this game... it’s FREAKING Awesome! Please update and don’t let this jewel die like the games of my purchase list form the AppStore..
Here, the KickMyGeek Review about Wonder Blade. If you are still hesitant to try this game, now is the right time to try it. https://kickmygeek.com/test-jeu/iphone-ipad/wonder-blade “...This is a great beat 'em up game with action RPG focus created by indie studio, made up of two people named PuppetDepot. In addition, this game is more impressive because it is not only of excellent quality but also humorous in detail. Despite the repetitive play spirit of the game, it has diverse and full of enough content. This game makes the player want to play it over and over again. Wonder Blade is a small piece that you need on your iPhone or iPad...”
Hm. Tough crowd As a designer, I've had work stolen from me and it feels awful, which is why these cases piss me off so much. PuppetDepot did a full playthrough of Castle Crashers and took detailed, extensive notes, and copied the art just enough to stay out of legal trouble. That's the slimy part of it, and some of you are falling for this. I understand defending a game that feels fun to you, but this is not an hommage to any other game than Castle Crashers, as it's a straight copy. This crosses the line from hommage to plagiarism many times over, but if you want to reward a copy cat with your money, I can't change your mind. I've seen other cases where Touch Arcade missed the mark on calling out copy cats (Threes!, Ridiculous Fishing anyone?) - by failing to stop covering the clone game entirely. The sad part? It looks like a fun game to play exactly because it is such an unscrupulous clone
Your persistence is absolutely mind-blowing, man. In the case of Threes! and Ridiculous Fishing, innovative games that were slated for release had the very core ideas that made those games innovative and unique ripped from them before they were released. Those ideas were then used to make 2048 and...whatever the **** the Ridiculous Fishing clone's name is...look like their developers were innovators and game-changers in the world of mobile (and non-mobile) gaming. Castle Crashers on the other hand is a game that is literally a decade old, that has absolutely no rivals on the App Store, and was (and is...probably) never going to get a mobile port. Until The Behemoth comes out and points a finger at Puppet Depot Game Studios for stealing code, art assets, music or sound effects, can we shut the **** up about this being a clone? It's an homage through and through. Puppet Depot doesn't try to sell this as Castle Crashers, its title is not even in the same realm as anything to do with the words 'Castle' or 'Crashers', there's no mention of Crashers anywhere in the app description, any online videos or the game itself, and any art or animations that you feel may have been stolen are actually much more evolved than anything in Castle Crashers. homage ˈhɒmɪdʒ/ noun special honour or respect shown publicly. "many villagers come here to pay homage to the Virgin" synonyms: respect, recognition, admiration, esteem, adulation, acclaim, acclamation, commendation, honour, reverence, worship... Sounds about right. Trust me, the people in this thread weren't born yesterday and certainly aren’t oblivious idiots who don't know Castle Crashers is a thing.
The developer had written himself in page 7. I am the big fan of castle crashers since 2012, so I've always dreamed about when I could create such a great game myself, so I started learning programming and animation, and I admit that CC inspired me a lot, but most of the contents in the game are still original, even in honor of the creativity in CC, we try our best to improve and make it unique. The other thing is that the mobile game platform has never had a game with similar style, I think there will be many people want to play on the phone, so I want to make up for this regret, also want to complete my own dream. Glad you like it, thank you very much. It's not a direct copy paste. It has been indeed inspired from Castle Crashers. There are two persons in the company. He learnt programming and animation. This is not an easy task Fruityth1ng (I had started learning Unity and abandoned it). They created their "Castle Crashers" iOS game. They didn't steal programming code / assets from them. If something similar would happened like this: https://www.polygon.com/2018/6/22/17492806/bethesda-lawsuit-warner-bros-westworld-mobile-game-fallout-shelter then yes, you are right and it's not ethical at all ! It's a robbery and they are thieves and we shouldn't download the game but this is not happened in this situation ! In contrary, they created a great game, they show continuously great support now and they will show in the future and they deserve to support them by purchasing their game.
Its crazy hes still going on about this. If this was a direct clone then i'm sure we would moan about it and the dev of CC would also do something but its not. Its a great homage As i'm an old gamer i've seen plenty of other games here with huge comparisons or 'homages' to past older games i've seen from the 80's and 90's. Theres tons of them but i dont see people going on a crusade about a certain platformer being 'similar' to Mario land and so on.
PuppetDepot - being featured by Apple is fantastic as you're now going to be downloaded by the masses. However at its current state, the game is extremely hardcore and way too brutal for the majority of these masses. As a friendly suggestion, you really need to tone it down in difficulty, or at least add different difficulty levels, and update it ASAP before the editorial goes up on the AppStore.
Imagine if Supercell started suing every game that’s a clone of their games, they would never have to make another game ever again.
I have never played all games in all platforms. I buy almost 10-15 games every month for ios and ps4 together. So before every time i buy a game that i trully like i should do a full research if this game is a "copycat" or has some similarities with other games and then buy it? Come on guys this is real life right here. We are talking about gamers. We are gamers. Leave this sh@€t tl lawyers and judges and courts. And if you are trully sensitive at this stuff and your morality does not let you buy it the do not and just move on.
Hi guys, I've just submitted the art assets to Apple for featured, and I've read all the comments above. Thank you for your love and support for the game. The balance adjustment update is coming soon. In addition, questions about WB and CC are too similar, I think anyone who has played this game will know what the truth is. I even think it's an encouragement. There have been games like CC in app stores, but because the way of play is single, low quality, and no one has questioned their plagiarism. Wonder Blade can be questioned maybe just because it's good, including friends who complain about difficulty, all based on the love of the game, I just a indie game developer, It is very touching that someone can recognize my efforts, so I'm thankful for everyone's reply and I'll work harder in the future. Cheers!
