Should I get this or Classic Doom when it comes out because that has already been submitted and should be out soon?
ID is working on Doom, too, right? May be I should wait. Old memory is good, but nothing replaces double-barrel shotgun and chainsaw... (No, I am not a big fan of BFG.)

i don't know, without playing the other I have no idea which would be better. I was always more of a fan of Wolf3d than Doom. So my pick would be wolf3d but that's only because I liked it more. if you liked the other more than wait for it, if it comes out and it's no good you can always buy this, I doubt it will sell out
I'll give the other controls a try, but so far I'm really digging the basic set. I agree about the retro appeal, but even for someone (like me) who doesn't feel nostalgic about pixelated graphics, the game is a blast.
