i caved and bought the game. it is awesome because it is retro and nothing more. if you did not play this game as a kid or games similar you'll most likely hate it. i am still trying out the different controls, but it's not that complicated of a game so most of them work quite well. 9/10
i never played this as a kid but i do like quake and doom so i love this but dont like the gray ceiling
As has been said in the thread several times, you can't. Carmack removed that feature to avoid cluttering the UI, since he found very few people bothered switching weapons anyway.
Well that's a downer. Now I gotta waste all my ammo if I want to knife someone. Oh well. Still an amazing game. Thanks for letting me know!
iD decided not to have toggle switch to switch weapons, because there aren't a lot of weapons in the pc port. You can immediately get the biggest gun if you do the four finger tap anywhere on the screen and type in the cheat code "give"
haha, FYI, I took a look in the section of the code again, and do not see for the life of me, any more codes. All I see is GOD, GIVE, and NOTARGET. It probably makes sense as there isn't too much else they could put in, I guess they could get refill health or ammo only, and get a certain weapon but I don't think so.
Know if there's any other interesting console commands? Doesn't have to be cheats, maybe dev comments or whatever.
all one word, you must enter it in while active in a level it does not remain on or off like god mode when you start a new game it is no longer active

okay great! you can do it from the menu but you have to be going back into the current game, you can't start a new one.
I can't help thinking how great it will be if the upcoming port of Doom to this platform supports multiplayer over wifi. I mean, wow. There's a game that you know is going to make it to the #1 spot.
