God I want to be so badly. But my excuse for not buying it has been that I want to build a gaming PC first.

Ye, kinda. I'll put it on hold probably. Not sure yet cuz at its core it is an awesome wRPG. Probably the best I've played yet. Ever.
But ugh...the framerate is just terrible on ps4.
Not all the time though but as soon as it is raining (man, I love rain) and/or fog (swamps) and/or heavy dynamic lightning comes into play it just gets aweful to play. The combo of the mentioned things above is even worse. I wont even start talking about Novigrad...god damn.
I would prefer a lower resolution any day but I don't think this will happen. Hope they fix it.

After wondering what the fuss was about I'm finding it pretty solid now that I've sunken a bit of time in. Not quite the second coming some make it out to be I believe personally, but the writing, lore and stories make it better than the average. A benchmark in that respect for sure.

Yes! I'm utterly engrossed. The writing and quests are simply amazing and light years ahead of anything Bethesda has done (and I say that as a long time ES fan)

I'm looking for a serial killer right now who mutilates the victims, very "Jack the ripper" kind of thing. Some of these quests have made me laugh out loud, and almost had me in tears. Truly amazing rpg. It's certainly raised the bar for others.

Some of the quest chains in this have been worth the purchase price alone.. Goty for me (so far)

Wow, 90 dollars is quite much. oO
It was €60 here which is already less then the usual €70 price tag a ps4 game usually costs. Ha!
Man, I didn't had an unboxing like this in many years. A manual, map, compendium and even the freaking soundtrack all packed into it. I was speechless and still am when I think about it.

Where the heck are you shopping? Aus is normally $10-20 cheaper than NZ and there's no way I'd be paying that.

Steam prices in NZ. Also technically the RRP of anything.

It's $92 NZD on Steam, which I'd consider pretty pricey still. $85 from JBHifi but no doubt goes lower. NZ usually doesn't do RRP on anything unless it's EB which goes for everything they can get.

    Dude, I live here. :p
    Tell me $90 games aren't a thing. >_>

And GTA 5 is $92 today. Up until the end of the Summer Sale this morning, it was priced at $109.99 with a 15% discount, putting it at.... You guessed it. $92.

No $90 games are a thing, RRP games aren't if you shop right. My only reason for replying was when you said GTA V was $120 NZD on Steam which it isn't. No harm though, we've got it pretty poor here but not quite that bad.

    90.00 NZD = 61.46 USD

    That's not that bad.

    $110.00 NZD = $75.12 USD

    UK is similar:

GTA V PS4 is £41.79 (Amazon UK)... which is $65.79 USD

So it's about the same for NZ gamers as UK gamers and really both are currently just a bit above the original retail price in the USA.

Well it was $110 on the day, not $120 (sorry), but I've seen many game RRPs in the $100+ range in physical retailers. Sure they are always "on sale" but the RRPs are jacked up.

Aaaaaanyway. Witcher 3. Best game ever, right? I heard they sent out patches for the weird movement, has anyone had problems with that?

Yeah the RRPs are insane, normally though I can buy things $30-$40 below that day one, I typically won't go over $90 for console and find JBHifi pretty good in that respect. I hardly ever buy retail for PC and usually only buy through Steam or GMG (exchange rate has stuffed that of late though). GOG is another one that's quite good for non Steamworks games as long as the NZD is doing okay against the Australian dollar.
