    Ok my problem is that I bought a router and tried to set it up, but it is saying I need a wired/wireless network adapter, but im confused because I had another router and I was able to use Wi-Fi with it so is it that not all routers need wireless/wired network adapters or is it that mine may be broken?
    My old router was a Linksys SRX200 and the new one I got is called a Wireless-G Broadband Router by Cisco.

    And if I do need a wireless network adapter are those the little USB things?

    If your just replacing a router with another router there should be no issues, just run the linksys setup disc.

    When I run the set up it wont let me continue without plugging in a wired/wireless adapter.

    Is your pc connected to your router via ethernet cable while doing the install?

    if your having trouble call (800) 326-7114 for linksys technical support.

    just have your mac address and serial number ready when they ask.

    Yep, and nothing still.
    Im going to go buy a wireless network adapter and see how that works out and if push comes to shove I might just get the same router again..

    Customer Support? Tried that many times and after waiting on hold for 40 mins each I got disconnected just as they began talking.

    Computers (which all have wireless adapters built-in) are usually compatible with WEP and WPA security. WPA2 and above... maybe. Not always. Maybe that's your problem. Check your security level.

    I set up a D-Link router today, I'm not sure if that set-up is similar, but I initially put together the hardware and cables, then ran a web-based wizard.

    linksys routers always give me troubles... unfortunately there are few alternatives to them.

    Yes, wireless adapaters look exactly like USB keys/drives/etc.

    Yea linksys is starting to become a thorn in my side, does anyone have another suggestion to them? I've been using linksys for awhile and only until now am I realizing some of its problems, so yea any other brands that people think are reliable and worth the money?

    Like I said in a previous post, D-Link is treating me pretty well so far. Easy installation, great range, no hiccups so far, compatible with my ipod.

    you could have had everything working earlier if you would just call (800) 326-7114 for linksys technical support.

    Uh I did and after waiting on hold for almost an hour they hung up on me(or got disconnected) in the middle of the call. One can only be on hold for so long...

    @Kamazar
