I'm here to vent. The Wipeout series is my favorite racing series of all time. Everything from the track designs to the music to the controls is absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, I no longer have a PSP, and I will never have the money for a PS3 or Vita. It seems there should be hope in the App Store, as every other major game series or genre has been ported or decently cloned numerous times. Unfortunately, Wipeout is PS-only and there has never been a clone that comes close. This strikes me as odd, since all the ingredients are here. Good racing controls can be achieved on iPhone using tilt (Jet Car Stunts is my favorite example) and using on-screen sticks (Real Racing and Sonic Racing both feel incredible with a Fling). Visually, it shouldn't be a problem either. It's been said that even previous generations of iPhones are more powerful than the PSP was. There have been plenty of games that have tried to ape Wipeout (and F-Zero) like Protoxide and Low Grav Racer, but as I said at the beginning, they don't come close. I'm getting so desperate I almost want Gameloft to take a stab. Shudder. /Rant
