Promo codes are used with new iTunes accounts by developers to give themselves glowing reviews. They're not hard to spot. Just click on an reviewer's name in iTunes on your desktop and you get to read all their reviews. You know you got one when you see one review, reviews for that developer's apps only and/or a bunch of free apps downloaded to cover up.

And yes, this developer is guilty.

 

wow and he didn't just give himself a few glowing reviews, he went overboard with a crap load of them. amazing, well it assures me your game is not very good.

 

Doesn't matter for me. I'm not eligable to win due to my age.

 

whatever, I can use the $500 to replace the 3GS i preordered..

DATES and TIMES:
The RO® “$500 Expert 1” contest (the "Contest") starts June 15, 2009 at 12:01 AM Pacific Standard Time ("PST") and ends June 30, 2009 at 11:59 PM PST ("Contest Period").
The winner will be announced and notified July 4th, 2009 at 6:00 PM PST.

OBJECTIVE:
Simple, solve the RO® EXPERT 1 puzzle in the fewest number of moves. (As the Intermediate, Advanced and Expert levels are locked until previous puzzles are solved, you will need to solve all the puzzles in previous level to play the Expert 1 puzzle.)

ELIGIBILITY:
Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States that are 18 years of age or older on or before the Contest Start Date, except where prohibited by law. Employees of Roamular LLC and Duael Designs LLC ("Sponsors"), subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, ward, daughter or son and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in their same households, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win. Game reviewers that have reviewed and/or downloaded a copy of RO® using a promotional code are not eligible to win.

HOW TO ENTER:
During the Contest Period, fill out and e-mail the Submission Form above, and post a video of your winning solution online. By entering, individuals agree to comply with these Official Rules.

RULES:
Providing proof.
Contestants will provide a video of their submission, by posting it to Youtube or Vimeo.
This video must “Clearly” show the moves you make, and the final score as displayed in the game RO®.
Poor quality and unclear videos will be disqualified.
The title of the video should read RO-Contest followed by your solution number and then any other text you wish.
Example: “RO-Contest #27 Sammy”.

SCORE TO BEAT:
A minimum entry score has been selected based on scores of a control group of players. Solutions of 30 moves or less will be required for submission.
Submissions with 31 moves or more will be disqualified.

TIE SCORES:
In the event that two or more contestants submit identical scores, the tie goes to the earliest posted video.

PRIZE:
One(1) Grand Prize winning entry will receive a US$500 cash prize, paid electronically to the contestants PayPal account. Cash prizes will be awarded only through Paypal. All prize details are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. No substitution or transfer of prize is permitted, except by Sponsor. Any and all international, federal, state and local taxes on the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Contestants not providing a valid and verifiable Paypal account will be disqualified.

JUDGING:
All eligible entries received by Sponsor will be judged by a panel of qualified judges based on the following criteria: Fewest moves for the RO® “Expert 1” puzzle. Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a background check, at its sole discretion. Finalists may be disqualified, at Sponsor's sole discretion, for any of the following: having been charged with or convicted of a felony or misdemeanor, being delinquent on a government ordered payment, such as child support, spousal support, alimony, tax payments, etc.

GENERAL:
By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsors, Roamular LLC and Duael Designs LLC, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant's participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; and (c) to the use of his/her name, voice, article, image and/or likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity by Sponsor and its designees, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) or additional consents from entrant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. By submitting an entry, each entrant (and, if an eligible minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) agrees that Sponsor shall own entry in any and all media now or hereafter devised for advertising, promotion, and other purposes, worldwide, in perpetuity, without compensation, permission or notification from the entrant or any third party of any kind, except as prohibited by law. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, stolen, altered, garbled, incorrect, incomplete or delayed entries. Released Parties are also not responsible for problems downloading any Contest-related information or materials from the website or for any other technical malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer hardware or software failures, phone lines, failure of any entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, traffic, congestion on the internet or the website, or for any other technical problems including telecommunication, miscommunication or failure, and failed, lost, delayed, incomplete, garbled or misdirected communications which may limit a journalist's ability to participate in this Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for any other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether network, printing, typographical, human or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or malfunctions which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries or blogs, the tabulating of votes, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Contest in the event it becomes infected by a computer virus, bug, or is otherwise technically impaired, and to cancel or suspend the Contest in its entirety should tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Contest and, if terminated, at Sponsor's discretion, determine the winners from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to time of cancellation using the judging procedure outlined above. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS.
