Definintely. THPS 2 and 3 were the best. Then came THUG, great game, but after that it was all down hill.

THPS2 is easily my favourite of the whole series. I much preffered the smaller, arena style layouts over all this new age open world crap. Rather than having a billion different places to pull tricks, you had to get creative with what limited ramps and rails you had... finding new ways to link up lines, gaps and transitions.

I even prefer the fact that THPS2 DIDNT have the reverts, used to link up the combos from quarter pipe tricks. Sure it made manuals and grinds over powered, but it also kept the game atleast SLIGHTLY more sensible than the huge mega runs that became the norm once people got their heads around reverts.

All that said and done... no way would I buy it on the iPhone. I am one of those people who simple cannot use on screen dpads and buttons.... even when they are as simple as the ones in HookChamp or Backbreaker. I seem to be totally unco at remebering exactly where the buttons are positioned. I need that tactile feel so that i can feel where the buttons are, not just see them. And on a game that requires SO many inputs so fast, especially for linking manuals and the like, I just dont think it would be possible for me to play with getting crazy frustrated.

    Doing nothing of importance.

Naahhh... It didn't go downhill until after American Wasteland. It hit a very small bump in the road with THUG2 which had a better skating system, but really lacked in the story mode. Then again, it had enough insanity to redeem itself. American Wasteland was the best in the series for me. I've seriously never played a better skating game, ever. I always go right back to that one, as well as THUG 2, but I like THPS2 a lot as well. It was Project 8 that started the eventual downfall with the removal of many things like almost all of the creation and had some really tiny levels compared to previous TH games. And then came Proving Grounds... and it just died. And then Ride came out... and Activision just beat up a dead series...

They really need to go back to what made the series great... I hope this is a start. Maybe they're taking a look at what made the older games so fun, and why not start with the best of the old games?
