I'm oldschool, and I don't like preordering. Do you think it'll be difficult for the non-preordering types to simply walk into an Apple Store or Best Buy and pick up an iPod touch 4G on release day?
I don't think so. It's not like the iPhone where it being released the same time every year coincides with the end of a lot of people's two-year contract. It's also nearing Christmas, which is probably where the majority of the sales will be. I'm not saying it's not a possibility at a store in a really big city, but I doubt it.
I doubt it, never happened when I was looking for my iPod 3g. If you can't find one in any stores you can always turn to an online store such as Amazon.
You'll probably be able to get one easily after launch. As Kamazar said, it's not like the iPhone where you have lot's of people's contracts ending. Also I'm guessing that iPods are manufactured and put into shops at a quicker rate than iPhones.
Good. The long lines that usually accompany the release of new Apple products is fun to see on TV, but I'd rather not wait in one.
Every year they've been released during the first week of September, on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Chances are the new iTouch will be released this Tuesday or Wednesday.
You should have no prob , they are sure to send more then two to a store , as they are doing here with the iPhone
