Oh, right. Yeah, that would make sense. Yeah, that looks real to me. I'm pretty sure they'll keep to the old design with the shiny back.
I second that! Facetime does not work on 3g yet.... Stevie is in talks with AT&T, remembr? It works only on Wi-Fi yet... so why not? Infact... I was discussing this yesterday with one of my friends whom I asked to hold on to before buying a new iPod touch. (He wants one for the past 2 months) It is definitely going to have the following: Gyroscope A4 1ghz chip A larger battery The Retina Display 512 mb ram (to be able to run multi-tasking & themed wallpaper smoooothly) It is definitely NOT going to have the following: The need to hold it right for better 3g reception The slot for a microsim C'mon Steve, don't make me eat my words now
Just take Gray Powell out for a couple of drinks & he'll probably just give you a proto I personally don't think it will have any camera let alone two for face time. I think one of the reasons why they'll haven't included a camera is because it's one of the defining (even if a small one) distinction, characteristic & selling point between the iPhone & iPod touch. Not only that but the hardware cost/monthly bill iPhone users choose to opt for might grant the iPhone the camera exclusively is because cameras are used in cell phones & iPhone 4's 5 mega pixel is still behind compared to some competitors that will have 8 mega pixel cams. Of course gaming is my concern so I'm always gonna stick with the iPhone but those are just some of my reasons why I think iPod touch won't get a camera..but I hope I'm wrong, considering the nano had one.
I second this. Apple has always kept the Touch slightly behind the iPhone, why would they suddenly change that now?
im not sure if the ipod touch will have facetime. but since it only works in wifi.....and if the ipod touch had facetime, there would be more facetime talks meaning people love apple more.... otherwise it will be an iphone 4 without the cellular transceiver (and maybe cameras)
iPod Touch is unlikely to have two cameras, or at least a front facing cam as less people would buy the phone version
I don't think face time works on wifi alone. It still needs a cell network to provide the conversation & wifi enables the face to face ability which 3G isn't capable or optimized for as of this time. Just my speculation. Of course there are third party apps that allow you to place wifi calls but I don't see apple incorporating cameras on the iTouch based on those apps alone. However there's usually a fair trade....the iTouch not having such frills has always kept the processing power slightly fast than the iPhone...considering the constant network & such.
Are you sure about that? I thought the call was made through the network because when you make a normal call, you can switch straight into FaceTime.
I'm not sure myself, but I saw this video which shows the someone making a normal call and then going into facetime. I haven't experienced AT&T's crappy service, as I'm lucky enough to live in the UK where we have several decent networks that offer the iPhone Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel edit - I just watched it again and noticed that he said it runs over a voip/wifi connection. So maybe you are right afterall.
