Will OS 3.0 cost money for Ipod Touch 2gen owners?

Well, I'm done with jailbreak for a while, and that's iPTF's whole thing. So, that's shot. And I only started on iPTF because I got a 2 week TO here for something, and I was bored out of my mind. It's a decent community, I just like this one better.

Is there going to be a third model of the iphone and ipod touch!?!

A minor correction, the WWDC actually starts on June 8th and lasts to June 12th.

Hopefully OS 3.0 will be released on the 8th.

 

The jukebox could be DLC or a part of a furnature set that is DLC, I have a feeling all the features you want will not be in the release version and be added with or shortly after 3.0

 

It won't. It will be released whenever the new iPhone is. Some say that that's the 17th of July. But, it will come with the new iPhone, as that's the easiest way for Apple to monitor. The new iPhone will likely the only one to actually get 3.0. Other devices will probably end up with 3.0.1, since last minutes bugs always show up, and Apple will have already shipped the iPhones by then.

 

I hope 3.0.1 isn't as crappy as 2.0.1 was

 

Lulz. Did any devices besides the iPhone 3G actually ever get 2.0? I'm almost positive that the other devices got 2.0.1. 3.0 is looking great right now.

 

All devices got the 2.0 update last year, so all devices will probably get the 3.0 update this year

 

I know that everyone got a version of 2.0. And everyone gets 3.0 too. But I'm talking about the actual version number 3.0. I'm fairly certain that by that time, it'll be on 3.0.1.

 

No, everyone got the 2.0 firmware, then apple updated it a week or two later to 2.0.1

 

yeah i remember getting 2.0 cos i had to pay for it and it kept reminding me everytime i turned on itunes and also when i tried to go on the itunes store. bit annoying actually.

 

Regardless. I didn't actually have a device at that time. I watched the whole iPhone story unfold, from January of 2007 until I actually got my iPod touch on Sept. 9, 2008. So, I'm bound to get some details wrong.

 

lol, I have had an iPod touch since they came out.

 

I purchased a 3G at launch and it didn't come with 2.anything. I had to upgrade it's firmware. If that answers your question.

 

does anyone know if 3.0 is going to have a way to organize apps, like folders or anything?

 

Nope, nothing known yet. There is no improvements to that question so far in the beta, and wasn't talked about at the March 17th event.
