I didn't quite understand how they wanna do it. Will it only cost for 1gen owners or also for 2gen ipod touch owners and only be free on the Iphone?
If you are a first gen touch owner, I suggest not upgrading, and waiting for the 3rd gen, or pick up a cheap used 2nd gen. I think this update should be free for 1st gen considering we can't use half the features and paid $100 more.
They didn't seed iPhone 2.0 until the 3g launched. Which wasn't until July. I expect the same thing this year, 3.0 will be launched alongside the new phone in mid-July.
Yes. For all iPod touch owners, it will be a $9.95 upgrade. All currently jailbreakable devices will always be jailbreakable, regardless of software version.
June 2nd is before WWDC, so it obviously doesn't require 3.0. Think about the touch users that don't upgrade to 3.0, is EA not going to release it for prior versions of the OS? I'd imagine they release in plenty of time before 3.0 to allow people to play through the game's entirety and crave more, and release a large DLC upgrade with 3.0 in July.
Exactly. EA is extremely large. I guarantee that they have at least 5 dev accounts or 1 enterprise and a regular to give some 3.0 to test those features and develop independently of the 2.0 people. Iz you teh Tupac? See : Tupac Shakur Shakur96?
