No. Here is how it works: 1) Sync and back up your iPodTouch in iTunes 2) Connect your new device. After you activate it, you will be asked whether you want to restore it from backup. Click yes. 3) After the restore is done, sync again to get your media and apps You should now be all set -- all save files intact. The only issue will be with games that save data remotely using your device ID (like Archetype). They obviously will not recognize your new device. I've done this three times already and it has always worked without a hitch. BTW this thread belong in the Lounge.
I don't think I chose to restore from back up when I got my new iPod Touch 4G and now all progress and in app purchases are gone!!! Also I can't use my old Archetype username because it's already taken (by me)
you can't ever transfer archetype usernames, even when you delete and redownload it. Downside for the most simple online game signup out there.
