My Ipod is messed, it keeps shutting down randomly when playing music. Before I restore and upgrade to OS 4.2, if something worse happens, will Apple know if I upgraded it previously? Is my warranty already void?
From experience of friends, if you bring your device to Apple, they will void the warranty. If you restore it though, they cant tell that it's jailbroken unless you've changed your carrier name or app name (because a restore doesnt change those things. However, Apple does not have a backdoor into the device and they cat tell if it's jailbroken.
