i really liked this character - she kind of reminds me of a blue Ruby Rose - and I was walking around and this moment felt so fresh to me, like I could feel the breeze amid the trees
Thanks I'm telling you, birch trees are like landscape magic. I really enjoy the character customizer too because it's fun to express your character and imagine their personality
I like the south east near the sea, it’s a green world with many ButterOak trees and BlooBells, with eroded embankments on grassy hills
Wilderless’ Character Customizer is available in uodate 1.3. It lets you choose how you want to represent yourself. I’m hoping it gives players more options for diversity and creativity
I have a problem. I wasn’t playing since a a month ago, now the game starts (in default settings) few seconds and it stop working and kick me to phone home screen. My device is iPhone 8.
I just sat down to write you basically this but in long form You're not the only person who has had trouble with my game on iPhone 8 so I sorry about that. I tried to do a lot of optimizations in version 1.4 which was released today - ws that the version you tried? For one girl it wasn't starting and I could not figure ut why. But another player did a reset and it helped. For anyone reading here's a few notes: You can goto Options-settings-reset all and this will reset your game to the default quality. Because I include the ability t set settings to anything you want in some cases people set for example the terrain generation to very high, which causes crashes on many devices (I actually hid that option because of this) but its a transparent setting where you don't really see the effect so it caused crashes which were fixed by a quality reset. You can also do a complete reset in the splash screen-options-reset. But this resets the entire game. But still useful if you cant get into the landscape for any reason. For one player a restart of the phone fixed it. Im focusing always on adding optimizations because I hate it of it crashes. Part of the issue is that I'm using Unity 2019 instead of unity 5 which is what I made my other games in and they are much more stable.Newer version of unity tend to be more unstable especially o mobile, southing that is preventing me from properly updating Vandgels and BrightRidge. The other issue is just that this game is so much bigger - the landscape is 250 times the size of bright ridge, and with 999 world to choose from it has a maximum size of over 100,000 square km to explore. Anyways I will keep on optimizing as well as updating and I try to take into account everything I've learned about mobile development to try and prevent memory problems before they occur but it doesn't always workout that way. So im really glad that you were able to get it working nd thanks so much for playing it. Tis update adds new fully reflective water options, tents, and a house plus about a 100 fixes and small additions. The next one will add horses and more wildlife and I will do my best to make it perform as well as possible.
Wilderless 1.6 The next update is adding procedurally generated dungeons underground. They're for exploration at first, bit they lay the ground work for the upcoming phase 2 "life" updates Its fun to work on architecture for a bit after working just on natural landscapes until now. It kind of reminds me of building the citadel in Vandgels. I use the same app to build teh dungeons called Archimatix, which is a parametric modeller that's very good for making buildings and human made things.
Thanks - yeah I like expanding the world with more architectural objects. Soon I will be working on villages too
On mobile the dungeon Lighting is really limited so I’m am careful to make the areas seem somewhat plausibly lit
Wilderless 1.6 underground I’m working on ceilings which are procedurally chosen and let in varying amounts of light to keep light and shadows diverse as you wander through the levels. Screenshots are from my 2018 iPad Pro
Been a while since I’ve run Wilderless. Recently traded my Air 2 for an Air 4 so downloaded again, and what a difference 2 generations make! No more memory crashes and able to run with Ultra graphics, which look amazing. Quite a few additions since my last visit - a range of animal avatars, a sailing ship, and probably more to be discovered. I think Wilderless already held the world record for number of settings, and now there seems to be more. Looking forward to the Underground update.
Thats great Im really glad your new device opens things up. Its not a secret my games are very ambitious and I build them with forward devices in mind, although I am always also optimizing for early devices. The next update adds a low memory option alongside the current Simple Trees and Simple World optimizations you can choose on the splash screen. But anything like your new air or up should be able to run at the default without optimizations enabled. Side note Part of the reason Apple's M1 chip is exciting is because ive been seeing firsthand just how much more powerful apple chips have gotten every year. There is. aHUGE difference between my devices, and my iPad Pro 2018 can handle almost anything I throw at it. Yeah I added a lot of updates over the last year. This dungeon update is the beginning of my human-made updates that are leading towards procedurally generated villages and cities. I have about ten more updates planned (this one will be update 1.6) The update also includes a revamped house with some new options like opening and closing the doors and lighting fires and lamps so you can be all cozy, plus house paint
On a side note, Some beautiful fan art by Amin. Nepto Suvika from Nimian Legends Vandgels is one of their favourite characters and I think they do her justice. I especially love the mood, and the flowers and vines below Acrylic on paper.
I'm working on dungeons themes, they're controlled from theme files so I can create new ones quickly. This is a really difficult process like the lighting was - for every combo that works there are 100 that look like junk, I just need to keep going and not give up ❤️#indiedev
