The open world experience is great as it is, but can we fish? Just holding a rod with a bobbing floater is enough. I rarely catch anything anyway...

:) There's no fishing in the game. But I am working on several updates, one of them is the Activity Update, so fishing might find its way into the game. There are fish in the game, so it would make sense:) I haven't talked too much about my exact plans, because technology I use changes so fast that sometimes it precludes adding certain things to games that have to run on a broad variety of devices, but if all does go well, I can tell you that I am working on some features for this game that in think will be very big surprises, and I can't wait to get them out there. As for the next two updates, they include language translation and the Animals Update, which is bringing more wildlife and, my favourite, horses:)

Thank YOU! :) I make these games so people can enjoy them, so I really appreciate your kind words. And if you feel inclined to leave a review and rating with Apple that is always a great help to developers like me. Along with shout outs from places like Touch Arcade (thank you TA!) word of mouth is the way my game reaches people, and good reviews help that.

    Im working on update 1.3

    Its adding character customization:)

You can mix and match outfits, hair and even genders however you like.

This was a big request in my last games, and its something I wanted to see too. The tricky part is figuring out an interface that will let you change character looks without having to go into a dedicated character change screen.

I believe in freedom in my games and part of that means you can change your character look at any time. No being locked into anything.

This way you can explore the large landscape in style :)

Thanks for the recommendation. World 13 is well worth a visit.
Good to have the character customisation also. We can never have too many settings to experiment with! I started using the weather filters to get some dramatic lighting effects.

Oh wow, that's so moody:) it's cool to see people stretch into more stylized looks - this is like a moment in life where I would just watch the light in the sky.

The next update has blue butterflies too. And new water that reflects everything.

I'm glad your playing with the weather. Like the character customization I want you to be able to change anything

Wilderless,World 13 Photomode - I came across a winding river bank. It looked like a nice place to stop and take in the view ❤️

There's 999 worlds in update 1.3 - I find some more interesting than others and there is something about the naturalness of world 13 I like.

The character customizer in Wilderless has a lot of options and I am adding more. I decided to call this character Jurette

I often buy assets for use in my game but sometimes I can't find something that fits. There were very few Afro hair styles so I made this one in blender and i like how it looks. You can also customize the hair color to a bunch of preset colours, and in the next version I'm also adding an extended color picker so you can change the color to anything, from dark brown to emerald green

Soft sunlight in a SweetBirch forest, PinkRoot flowers rustle in the light breeze. I've had a thing for birch trees in games ever since Skyrim ❤️ Wilderless Photomode and character customizer

That is excellent. Could be a Claude Monet paintning! I’m constantly amazed at the amount of detail available. I think Wilderless captures the spirit of landscape better than high end terrain generators costing way more. And so fast too.
It’s also interesting to lose the detail which emphasises light and shade.
Comic book mode, Mayfair filter (and a birch tree).

I love that you're not afraid of these kind of experimental looks in your photos - it kind of a unique take on the world:)

I use a really great plugin called MapMagic to generate the terrain. Wilderless is actually infinite but I restrict it to 250 square km so I can give it more cohesion and natural feeling. I'm working on procedural building too so there are more surprises in store. I totally get what you mean about losing the detail. I think i
Of the landscapes as paintings where your mind will fill in what's missing so it doesn't need to by hyper realistic. Starting with BrightRidge I really try to embrace the messiness and dustiness of nature. I was very inspired by the light and tons of dust in shadow of the colossus / it probably had more impact on me as a game designer than any other game, although the open world of Skyrim and the magical quality of Fable are close
