judging by the graphics I'd say it still supports 4th gen devices, but we'll just have to wait & see.
You must have had a super magical psp . This teaser alone has more colour than the entire GOW games on the psp plus there's the huge difference in image quality between anything semi-advanced on IOS and psp games . I hope that this gets released soon since GL, unlike other developers, doesn't have the tendency to hype its games years before release . Nova3 and asphalt7 were fantastic and from what i read TDKR is great too (hasn't been released in my country) and i expect greatness from this one judging by the teaser .
I've finished both GoW psp games and they are lifeless, colourless , jaggfests with low resolution , compared to any semi-decet modern game, even on IOS. (at least on A5 devices) .
Textures were awesome as was the polygon count. Animations weren't bad. The lighting and atmosphere looked nailed for a hack n slash.
Well, after the update I actually prefer MP's controls, and graphically it does look better, just on account of the great animations variety of environments and textures. Plus the lighting was good. What device did you play the games on?
So this is Gameloft's take on the king Arthur legend? By having the player kill him? Hmm. Well that strikes me as more interesting than their past game plot, so ok.
Actually... no. Those screenshots aren't in-game, probably from the computer's PSP simulator. The game looks awful in motion, compared to current games of course.
The beginning of the game with the rain on the boat looks way more impressive IMO. (I did however play it on a Vita, so it was like playing a non-retina game on a retina display device.) Back on topic: I really don't see that much (if any) of an improovement graphics wise compared to the engine gameloft uses for their shooters.
Both GoW games on PSP pushed the platform to it's limits and still hold up as two of the best looking handheld games ever released -- including the Vita. As it happens they also lost Sony a boatload of money (especially the second one); they went so far as to release HD versions for the PS3 that also tanked. Considering App Store pricing and Gameloft general market savvyness, I expect that they're not putting anywhere near the same resources into this that Sony flushed with the GoW games. That said, this could still be a well made and fun game in it's own right.
Look, I am not bashing God of War. It is one of the better games for PSP. But in that video you linked, once the boss goes to the back of the screen, every time he moves at all there are thousands of jaggies all along his arms and body. I would never dispute it being a good game, and a pretty one at that, but lets not make it out to be something it isn't.
Agreed, most psp games are a strain on the eyes these days with the same problems that plagued the ps2 only in the small screen .i can't believe that people would compare an UE3 game, even on iOS, to psp games . The truth is that gameloft with its latest release ( alpha 7, nova 3 , TDKR) has really upped its game and I can't wait to play this on my ipad2 ..
Every Gameloft game looks great in screenshots, because they know that that's what is used on the appstore to showcase that game. However, rarely do the animations live up to the quality of the screenshots. But by the time most people have seen them they've already bought the game. That's not to say everyone just goes off the screenshots when buying an iOS game, but most people do. And by the time they actually experience the gameplay, its usually too late to reconsider. Most people that invest in a GOW game, however, have looked online and watched trailers and gameplay footage to see the animations for themselves. The higher entrance price serves to weed out many of the impulse buyers, so the game relies on this kind of exposure to sell itself. So it's only natural that GOW would have better animations. Either way, I'm still going to follow this and there's a very good chance I'll bite as soon as its released. Even though HOS 2 got mixed reviews, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
