Whaa? Who, may I ask, confirmed this thurs? Kinda got the impression from the trailer (especially animations) that it'll be a while before we see th game.
Huh...for real? Nova 3 had about 3 trailers before being released, with one stating the date. Sept 6 would be very, very good (about 14 hours for me!) but I am suspect to the fact that Gameloft will release their Unreal 3 game with not much fanfare.
Looks like the 6th it is? I googled wild blood September 6th and ran into a few different sites confirming the date. That's means NZ will see game in about 7 hours. Let's hope it's true. Get your iTunes card ready SANUKU.
Well, seems like people don't like this game...a 2.5 rating on iTunes? I thought the gameplay looked okay, and then she's got bombs front and back, top and bottom respectively.
LMAO poor Sanuku. Must waste a lot of $ on crap games. Great of him to be posting all the vids for us to decide if it's a decent game.
I can't exactly give the source (as I haven't seen it published anywhere online because of the embargo. Edit: Fastbridge found some online) but with the iPhone 5 taking all the news next week and with a lot of sites already after getting hands on time with the single player, just not published in depth because of the embargo (some brief impressions have but not much detail), plus the original source is correct 99% of the time, the odds are high that their info is correct. If it turns out to be incorrect, I'll just have to scratch that person off my Christmas card list.
Lol. Yep, makes a ton of sense that GL wouldn't want to get swept under the rug with the iPhone 5 around the corner, and with a huge lineup for the rest of 2012 they want to release as soon as possible. I'm betting on this thurs as well, or hoping for it. I'm a tad more excited than is the usual with GL games given that this is their first hack n slash since HoS 2, which was from 2010, and the fact that this is their first unreal game and they will naturally want it to shine (as much as Gameloft ever takes pride in its games). Besides, I'm a little sick of shooters and RPGs tbh (though bastion is fantastic).
I'm kinda torn myself. I want to play something a bit different. It looks very good but story is a very important element to this type of game and as much as I always end up buying Gameloft games, i really need this one to have a good story to match the visuals and story is not really one of Gamelofts strongest areas (to put it in as nice a way as possible). Fingers crossed though because initial impressions from some seems to be quite good. (I'd also like to see that Critical Strike Portable release on Thursday so I guess I'm not quite as tired of shooters as I thought)
Don`t worry to much about me. Expect the usual HD Gameplay Marathon as soon as I'll see it on the iTunes Store because besides Modern Combat 4 Wild Blood is one of the last five Major Release from Gameloft for this Year. The Game isn`t really worth being mentioned. I just wanted to muck you up.
I think Wild Blood will do better than Horn. Horn started very well in terms of story, but in the 2nd world it just loses steam. Not played the 3rd yet though. Gameloft games seem to have a fast-paced story (nova 3). It's only undoing was very boring cutscenes...just watching the characters stand still most of the time. If they can improve on that, Wild Blood will rtp.
The way I see it, with the genre of shooters, racers and (in my opinion) hack n slash story isn't anywhere near as important as gameplay, and Gameloft typically nails the racer and shooter gameplay pretty well. With the exception of, oh, nothing they have groan worthy dialogue and/or plots. If they hit a home run with WB in terms of depth of gameplay and sense of "oh-I'm-so-awesome-as-I-decimate-this-100th-identical-monster" then I can ignore for the most part the ludicrous (Lancelot and king arthur fighting over a cheating guenevere? Really?) story. Critical strike really does look nice, but the F2P without iap just sets my freemium bells ringing. There has to be, or will be, some sort of catch later down the line. Who puts thousands of hours of hard work into something that's totally free? It'll be great if I'm wrong, though. Everything about it looks top notch.
I've played CSP on Android, and it's 100% free. Loads of user-uploaded maps as well. And it's gonna be cross platform between Android, iOS and PC browser....which is epic. But having said that, Trigger First is much better and suited to touchscreen devices. Graphics wise, both are very similar - nothing really great there.
The x axis only aiming system, the length of time between unlocks, lack of online players (though AI was exceptional) and lack of maps turned me off a bit. There really aren't any decent online shooters left; MC3 is totally taken over by cheaters, NOVA is filled with bunny hoppers which are almost as bad and for the above reasons TF just isn't my cup of tea. So CS might hold me over until MC4, and the multiplayer component of WB looks interesting albeit probably a gimmick addon that nobody will play (a la Silent Ops or 9mm).
Hah yea WB multiplayer seems odd for a hack n slash. Not sure how that'll work out. Out of all the shooters you mentioned, I probably like Nova 3. I put in a solid 50 hours or so (maybe more) in under a month. I really liked it, but I was spending too little time on anything else that I deleted. It was that good for me (especially the machines map).
Alas, let the games begin. I have received first-hand confirmation that the game goes live on 6/9/12. Fingers crossed that Gameloft doesn't disappoint, and that we may continue discussing on the game in the full thread. Update: YouTube launch trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NfHuq8ZoF8
Totally free on every platform it's on. No iap, no hidden charges, nothing. If they charged for it, or had any iap, they'd owe someone a lot of money. It started as a fan based hobby project that they just happened to do it very well. Wild blood is out in new zealand as well.
