This is what you get, with my guesstimates of value:

    1) Brand new iPod with extra life in it; worth $20
    2) Brand new battery; worth $20
    3) New A4 processor; worth $20
    4) 512MB ram instead of 256; worth $20
    5) Retina display; worth $25
    6) Gyroscope; worth $10
    7) Microphone; worth $10
    8) 2 cameras; worth $20
    9) 1 year warranty; worth $25
    10) New GPU; worth $15

Total added value = $185 (give or take)
The ipod 4G will probably be worth at least $80 more than the iPod 3G when you are ready to sell it.
A new model won't come out for another year.
It is unlikely that the next model will have as many technology advances as this one.
