Y'all are still going on about this? I think some folks need to get a life, or better yet get back to gaming. Preferably on an iPad. :D

IMHO - The iPad blows away the ipod touch and iPhone for just about everything.

The only thing I use the 3gs for if I have my iPad with me is is for the phone and texting abilities.

If you want to surf the web, watch a video, play a game, read a book then the iPad delivers a much much better experience than the iPhone or iTouch.

It is a killer device - I can't believe you are going to return it to use your iTouch instead.

    I would never return mine.

At least not until next year when the next better one comes out...

I thought we were talking about practicality? If so, then you just proved our point, if not... I'm really confused lol :p

me too, I think laptops are more practical, the iPad is just an expensive toy if you can afford one good for you I'm not wasting money on it just so I can go on the Internet everywhere I always surf the web at home anyway if I'm on the go and happen to want to look something up I'd rather just use an iphone..

    Great.
iPad > laptop --- That is our opinion. Now please accept it and stop trying to tell us that we are wrong. It's not a crime to prefer web browsing on an iPad, I promise.

We're talking about the overall functionality of the iPad, and I don't think functionality can be an opinion...

Or like I told Hodapp, that's what I'm arguing about, dunno about anyone else.

hahaha, now that I read it again I didn't quite mean it that way.
I would love an iPad, and I spend as much time on my friends as I can but there would have to be a recently deceased rich relative to fund it...

how about iPads and laptops aren't in the same class and can't really be compared like you can't compare a Hyundai with a..Rolls-Royce or something
iPad doesn't do as much as a laptop and it's not meant to

The iPad is not for everyone, some will never own one, some can't justify the price. But for some of us it's perfect, the battery alone is worth it for me. I had a Sony vaio, it was biggest piece of crap I ever owned, battery barely lasted after 10 months, and without a power supply you are royally screwed.

Like I said earlier in the thread, for an accountant it does everything needed, if I want to read I can, if I want to watch a film, I can....all without panicking my battery will die within 3 hours.

No one is right or wrong, but to some of us who dispise flash, and don't need to have every piece of software/spyware attached, the iPad suits us fine.

Flash is not the be all and end all of life, just like some minion never buying an iPad isn't. It just means some people like a more portable, long lasting device.

well...now that i think about the battery life is a plus too the ipad. but still, that no enough for me. not to mention i probably wouldn't be away without place to charge for more the 4 hours.

    Ohh... Hai! I'm back!

Dude, Hodapp! I am so sorry I offended you by returning my iPad and sharing the whole story with TA. I promise to not do it again. I just recently bought a 27" iMac (I'll post pics if you don't believe me) and I really want to return it. But, I don't think you'll like that, so I'm gonna keep it. But, really... only because I can install Windows on it. Thank God! So... I'm gonna keep it really simple and not start a thread about and talk about how... wait... sorry... I won't...

    :p

They love me there. They could care less if I return something because I'll be back to buy something else and actually keep it. It's just some things are not worth keeping.

I don't think that's it, I think you might just be impulsive.
