I mean seriously, it's really starting to make me angry since it takes 15 or more minutes to just sync ONE app on your ipod. Why is it taking this long and what is it doing?

Updates. Also, if you're using Windows, I think slowing EVERY POSSIBLE ACTION DOWN is Apple's way of saying "ha-ha!". It took 3 minutes for it to boot up. On a new laptop, too.

15 minutes is nothing. I was having sync times of over 6 hours at one point. After calling technical support they determined it was due to some application or other that I had imported content into... I suspect it was either Stanza which I had a ton of books downloaded in, or Comiczeal in which I had a few hundred comics imported, or Tap Tap Revenge in which I had downloaded all the extra songs. Not sure specifically cause I just unsynced all my apps and put the ones I wanted back on and it was fine again.

    Australia, mate!
Backup. Especially if you have a lot of apps.

I have a ton of books on Stanza as well, and i suspect it is largely responsible for the longer backup times for me. Though mine haven't been all that bad, apparently. Probably about 5 minutes at the worse.

Ok one time i was unjailbreaking my ipod so i had to restore. That whole sync progress to put everything back on took at least 4 hours. And i got so frustrated. I didn't know why it was taking way too long. I only have about 2 pages of apps which is about 1.5gbs and 6gbs of music. Music doesn't take long but it's the apps. I mean.. come on

Wondering if backups/restores take longer on a PC than they do on Mac, judging by how badly iTunes performs on XP it seems likely.

Yeah i have Windows XP. Another thing that pisses me off is that when you sync apps onto your ipod, you can't open up iTunes no matter what. It won't even open when you're syncing but when it's done it will open. I click on itunes on the toolbar and it just doesn't even open.. i have no idea why..

Yeah, it's a Window's thing. I can browse the iTunes store and my library while my ipod's synching.

Wow..lucky my iTunes doesn't even respond while my iPod syncs. But when my ipod is done, it just magically starts to respond..

Even so, it still runs at the same speed as when it's not syncing.
