Not surprised at all. She was a drug user, I have no respect for her. Her music was good and I wish her family the best, but I don't find this sad whatsoever.

I think that's sad and a little messed up TBH. Regardless of your stance on drug use to dismiss a persons accomplishments or value as a human being because of it is narrow minded.

I understand your point of view, but I will not pretend that I will miss her. Granted her music was very good, but I feel nothing in response to her death. When people choose that path, I lose respect for them.

I am not dismissing her accomplishments or devaluing her as a human being. She, before drug use, was a great singer. She deserved all the awards she received. However, after she began her downward spiral I stopped
    caring.

Had she died from something not drug related (And when I say drug related, I mean overdose) then my respect for her wouldn't be as diminished as it is now.

You use drugs and overdose you don't get any sympathy from me. Its a conscious choice she made and a choice she continued to make over a prolonged period of time.

    druggies..
it was bound to happen, sooner or later.. actually happened a bit later then i had anticipated.. in comparison to some of the other singers' deaths, especially the one of amy winehouse that is pretty recent.

I too have no sympathy for drug users. What do you expect?!
I do feel for her family who had no control over her bad choices.
There's a few jokes already circulating... I won't share though.

I too find it hard to have sympathy for someone who had every opportunity in life and decided to throw it all away due to lifestyle choices.

Amy Winehouse was another one, people are too quick to forget that these people could have had whatever they wanted from life and chose a path to self destruction. Why should I waste emotions on someone as idiotic as that?

Before anyone says anything about her having difficult times what with her marriage break up and various other things I'd like to remind them that this kind of thing happens to the rest of the world on a daily basis and is called life, how you deal with it and the path you choose is your own making and nobody elses fault.

There's loads of drug users out there dude. Doesn't mean they deserve to die.

I just wonder where you all got the evidence that WH died because of drug misuse?
The cause of her death was not published - well, there hasn't even been an authopsy yet.
Maybe it's a good idea to wait until evidences are found?

True. Although it seems likely she died from an OD, we shouldn't jump to conclusions, let's wait until the autopsy has been carried out first.

I just read this article which says it's possible that she drowned. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/whitney-houston-could-have-drowned-16116621.html

I don't even think her music was that good, the songwriters did a decent job though. What gets me is the way everybody acts so shocked, when it's kind of on the cards for someone with that lifestyle. I can't say I predicted it, but it's not like death came out of nowhere.

She definitely die from drugs... but it could have been indirect. As in, she took them quite a lot so can't have done her health much good!

iTunes was very quick to start profiting from this one. I wonder if Apple will release figures on just how much money their "Remembering Whitney Houston" scheme earns them? Almost enough to make it worth killing someone else off, I imagine.

I never said she deserves to die. Never would I say that unless the acts of which someone committed warranted death.

No where did I say she deserves to die.

I swear I read that her publicist said she OD'd

I think you're on to something there. Maybe Apple's assassins were responsible for the deaths of Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse as well ;)

Very sad that she passed away, only because she was one of the greatest singers of our time, but also sad to see her deteriorate due to long term drug use.

According to the news, there were 6 prescription bottles in the hotel room, 3 of which were xanax, valium, and lorazepam... two is enough to knock most people out, but having 6 various prescriptions, many of which are sedatives is a ticking time bomb.

She was found submerged in water in the bathtub, so more than likely, she overdosed, passed out, and drowned in the hotel bath.

I was still very sad to hear the news :(
