While white does look nice and classy if it gets dirty it's too obvious. The black on it helps make it instantly recognizable as a apple product. So i'd rather have black.
Black. I liked the white iPhone 3GS enough that I bought one, but the design of the iPhone 4 and iPad both seem better suited to black, so that's what I'll be getting.
Black. It's always seemed like the most natural colour for electronics, along with brushed metal and wood if you're talking audio. White seems like it's trying too hard to be different, it's a bit of a cry for help.
Black. That's a timeless color for electronics. Plus white border makes iPad look like a digital photo frame.
...and I'm pretty sure white is actually Apple's signature colour. The iPhone and subsequent products were exceptions. Still prefer black though.
Well wouldn't a spot of dirt or something still be more noticeable with a white background then a black one? I was talking only about iPhone and subsequent products when i said that. Guess i should be more specific.
