Yes it's all guesswork and speculation, But there's got to be something to be said for releasing the Verizon iPhone half way through the iPhone 4's life cycle, and now a White one just as it comes to it's traditional 'end' Chances are that at the usual iPhone event we're going to see iOS 5, running on iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4, iPad and iPad 2. Then in September we'll see their new hardware. This will probably start a new iOS device cycle of March for iPads, September for iPhone/iPod.
