For those that waited, your wish is about to be granted. Today (27th) retailers are supposed to be revealing it finally for sale. Here you go!
I've never really worked out why people want white so badly it tends to yellow up after a month or so and look bad, but saying that my netbook has a white interior that's holding up well so maybe it's only cheap plastic does that. That's my favourite gadget although my ipod is my most used by far. I'd like a multicolour ipod that matched it but I can't see apple ever making one I should probably just look for a case to match I think the 3 colour thing works really well though.
Because a June(ish) release seems like a no-go at this point, according to (supposedly)reliable sources. And all rumors point to a late fall or even later iPhone 5 release... That being said, no one knows for sure though, except Apple and maybe some select manufacturers. And if manufacturing issues arise with the new iPhone, a la white iPhone 4, Apples target release date could be pushed back even farther.
Until I see Apple totally over or under shoot their typical release dates I think I'll just go with the assumption that the "(supposedly) reliable sources" are less credible than the predictable habits of Apple who seems to be fairly consistent. Here's an interesting link plucked from these forums, a buyers guide to everything Mac. When should you buy and when should you wait. http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/
That guide is just based on a bunch of averages put together to best 'guestimate' when a product is going to be refreshed based on past releases. It's a good guess as to when a refresh may happen, but it's by no means a definite. Basically is says if it's old, then wait, a refresh should eventually come. If the refresh just came out, then it's a safe bet that a new iteration of whichever product will not be coming again for some time. I see the white iPhone 4 as a refresh of sorts, even if it's only aesthetically different than the current black iP4. So based on that logic, which is basically the same as that guides logic which you seem to belive, a new iPhone will not be coming out for some time. It's no more reliable a source than Macrumors 'reliable' rumor sources... I'm in no way saying it a definite either way, but I wouldn't bet money that a new iPhone is coming out soon...aside from the new white one, mind you.
I'm aware that the guide is a guesstimate based of off past release history (remember I'm the one the posted it?), which yes...that's exactly what I believe. A track record of predictable behavior seems to be a fairly good indication. I never said it was directly from the desk of Steve Jobs. But thanks for explaining how that guide (I posted) works I had no idea.
Yeah, you kind of inferred it: ^^ Sounds like you're definitely banking on it... No problem, glad I could clear that up for ya
Okay? I was pointing out that you were'nt suggesting that the new iPhone(5?) might come out in the June-ish timeframe, but you stated it as fact that it was indeed being released then. That's all I meant. If I misinterpreted that, I apologize, but that's the only reason I chimed in on this thread in the first place...
I said it was an interesting link...and you got undisputible reliable source from that? And you bold "will" but not the "ish" which clearly indicates speculation. If you want to nitpick based off of your misinterpretation or habit of reading way to far into a general statement go ahead.
I got nothing from that link, let alone indisputable proof. Thats my point. Why do you keep bringing up that link?
Because according to you I inferred that it was from the desk of Steve Jobs, how you formed that from either the word "will" or that link either way...you totally read way to far into a general statement based on general past behavior Which everyone knows isn't always exact. Or else I wouldn't have said june(ish) I would have given an exact date which I don't have. (regarding iPhone 5) Totally good Sorry quoting as you posted
Haha, yeah sorry about that last link post. I posted that as you were posting at the same time. We post so quickly that we started to totally convilude both of our initial points
Lol i know, i didn't know if I should have just waited I do that when texting sometimes and I end up in two different conversations with the same person
