Which saves on bills: turning off your air conditioning when you leave the house...

    ... or leaving it on at a constant (slightly higher) temperature to keep the AC from working too hard turning on and off?

    I think it depends on the type of system you have, how long you'll be gone, and the outside temperature.
    I have a heat pump so I pretty much just leave it on. I guess I could just turn it up a few degrees when I am at work, but I usually don't bother. I plan on turning it off when I go away for five days next week, but I don't usually turn it all the way off otherwise.
