I want some non-bikers opinions on what bike looks best.

The Megelli. Seems more refined, I guess. I tend to always prefer the European bikes over Japanese ones. I'm a Triumph fan, myself.

I'm not a "non-biker" but I definitely think you'll regret buying the Megelli. I don't know about England, but, in the US, Italian motorcycle parts are very expensive. Also, you're going to get a much better bike with the Yamaha.

I usually love Italian bikes, but, at that price point, Japanese can't be beat. I hate to admit it, but it's true.

Also, Japanese bikes are incredibly dependable. I read an article once where a couple "reporters" tried destroying a Kawasaki engine and couldn't do it. They even drained the oil and taped the throttle down. The engine got so hot it started glowing and shooting out flames. When it cooled down they added oil again and were able to start it right up.

I used to have a mid-priced Suzuki, and I definitely saw first hand how dependable they are(my next bike is still going to be American or Italian, though:p).

BTW, the Megelli does look nicer, though.

Those bikes are fast and a half.

The first time I test rode one, I couldn't stop smiling, even though I constantly felt like I was about to die.

I used to have a Suzuki too, until I moved to an area that had no good way to park a motorcycle. :(

If I ever get another one though, it will be a Honda or Yamaha. They really can't be beat when you factor in price, performance, and reliability. Especially if a motorcycle is just a toy for the weekends, you really don't want to deal with the Italian bike part tax when things break. (And they will.)

I'm a non-biker and I'd vote for the red one.

I think the red one is nicer. It stands out, whereas the other one just blends in with every other bike out there. Just my non-biker opinion....

Thanks for a great answer. But I think I will get the megelli. As Italian as the name sounds, the bike is actually British ;) so getting parts will not be a problem. At the moment, I have a Honda NPS50 (scooter) for getting to school, but next year, I will probably sell it adn get the Megelli.

I'm also a Triumph fan (living in England). But sadly, I will have to wait until I am 21 to get a Triumph with a decent engine capacity. I'm thinking Daytona or Speed Triple?

Oh, I didn't know that. I don't think they sell those in the US at all, so I've never heard of them. We have a lt of bike companies over here that I'm sure you never heard of before either(and tons of custom bikes).

    WTF?:

My father in law modded one of those Schwinn chopper style bicycles into a motor bike. He went all out on the thing too. He even welded the peddles down so it would still look like a bicycle, but still put in a tranny. Weirdest bike I've ever seen.
