On this theme, but going the other way, I really don't like the Ys icons. Love the games, but I've had to hide the icons in a folder...
I've always wished apple would let users customize their icons, maybe by editing a game screenshot or something like that. Or at least if more developers stopped trying to make them so "busy" and followed the general theme of the latest iOS which is simplicity and minimalism. I've always been a Jony Ive follower in that regard. (Example, Faif icon vs Card Crawl, two of my favorite games). Sometimes I've wanted to like a game so much more just because it's icon is so great. Sometimes I also can't bear to place a great app on my home screen because the icon is ugly. It's fascinating reading this thread to see how widely varied opinions are. Definitely an interesting study into beauty being in the eye of the beholder.
