Definitely tactical-turn-based-strategy like Advance Wars. Mecho Wars and Uniway currently satisfy my needs when my DS isn't around.
There lacks a proper RPG that doesn't get consists of 90% grinding and 10% walking around, and a proper storyline. Zenonia is the only one that came close because it was pretty fun to grind. Also it would be good to have a third person RPG too, combining elements of Devil May Cry and leveling up/collecting items. It would be a pretty large project and so far there's been no interest in it by any developer apparently. There's also no horror game that actually scary. A simple flash game like The Grudge would beat any of the so-called "horror" games out right now. Resident Evil 4 for the iPhone is more of a shooter in my opinion.
There are plenty of SNES style RPGs, but it would be great if there were more PC style RPGs like Fallout 1 & 2.
Obviously, you haven't come in much contact with kijib yet. Just pay no mind. Laugh when his sarcasm actually is funny. But generally just ignore his lack of on-topic...ness. I voted RTS, because I can never get too many of those kinds of games.
I'd like to see a Zelda-like game. A Pokémon-ish game would be great too. And any good platformer is a must have. So... RPG, Action Adventure and Platformer got my votes!
My daughter has me hunting for a "horse game". I'm striking out - i'd prefer to not have my Special Needs 10yo learning the fine art of horse betting She probably wouldn't care if it was a racing game, or a care for your horse game. She just wants a horse game and asks me every few HOURS if i have found one..... sigh.... gotta love kids with no perception of time huh? But hey, probably not what the OP was looking for - just figured i'd throw it out there since you asked, and i've been hunting this week....
lol, just look at his location. That's fairly accurate. RPG, there are too many cookie cutter games right now.
RTS's because while there are a few, None have really captured the X-Factor found in games like Warcraft 3, Age of Empires and Starcraft.
A little off topic but... What if Blizz ported SC or WarCraft 3 to the iSlate? ... Awww yeah But yes if you subtract all the cookie cutter Korean RPGs the iPhone has as little RPGs as it does action adventures. Pokemon was mentioned above, and yeah it would be great to get something like that, but Pokemon is really just an RPG. Something like Professor Layton would also be great, and I imagine sell through the roof.. pretty surprised we haven't seen that either.. I think the common factor here is that all these games require long development times, something not many iPhone developers are into... I mean, don't get me wrong iPhone developers are great, really innovative and creative and hard working etc., but whereas an iPhone title usually takes no more than a few months to put out, even a handheld Zelda takes minimum 2 years to build from scratch...
I voted RPGs, something like Baldur's gate and Fallout would be nice, but I don't think that's going to happen for a while. A First-person RPG would also do well, something like The Quest but free moving.
Well, I voted for Classic Adventure and RPG in the poll, but then I hit submit and realized that there was a survival horror one... and since there's only like 2 or 3 good ones, it definetly deserves a vote.
