If your main issue is player health, just play veteran difficulty. You'll fall in 2-3 bullets, sorted. Anyway, I'm with the dude who said Half-Life. Anybody voting on a series based on the single player campaign that hasn't played HL2 needs to go and play it NOW. It's beyond anything listed here.
Don't get me wrong I play all of these, but halo is my favorite game series of any genre it fits into,it has a good story and fun multiplayer-though I wish halo 4 had equipment from halo 3 instead
Since a "series" typically consists of 3 or more games, does that exclude basically every Valve game?
I think what saves it are the HL expansion and HL2 episode packs. They bring it into series territory. It's practically Valve's flagship and we all know 3 is coming, just as soon as hell freezes over and the Earth is obliterated by an asteroid
1. Unreal series (1,2,3-tournements) +mods 2. Doom series (1,2,3,) + mods 3. heXen series (1,2) + mods 4. heretic (1,2) + mods 5. Quake (1,2,3,4,tournements) live+mods 6. Prey...not a series, but should be. Too many non series fps to count . Always liked the non-war fps better. ww2 gets old real fast. 7. F.E.A.R series 8. Wolfenstien series
Hidden & Dangerous 2,without any doubt is my favourite FPS game. It was released in 2003 (yes,it's old,I know),but to this day,to me it represent the pinnacle of tactical shooter genre! In this game, you control a group of SAS operatives, behind the enemy lines(that means no generic Normandy Landing beach shootouts),with mission to sabotage german factories, retrieve intel... First of all, this is not the kind of game that you can complete in a couple of hours(Like COD).To complete the whole game you need at least 50 hours. Also, the key element in this game is stealth(you can think of it as a WW2 Splinter Cell)...also,you can steal german guards uniform! The storyline is impressive, missions are varied, from desert regions,in the Alps, arctic region,Normandy, underwater mission in which you have to plant mines on Tirpitz and retrieve Enigma coding machine,a mission where you infiltrate a castle....and a lot more I remember playing this game for the first time, when a dog(german sheppard),creeped up on me and killed me...gave me the scare of a lifetime ^^ The amount of content developers managed to put on 3 cd's (700 mb),makes me wonder what the hell are developers doing today! BTW,I'm sorry for writing this long post....just try the damn game
Call of duty black ops 2 on Xbox live is my favorite. The guns, customizations, and people playing on live are the best all around.
I sense sarcasm in your post ^^ (yay,I'm so smart) Anyway, what makes the game I mentioned before so good,is the fact that it is a thinking man's game, not another brainless shooter, which is why it has a special place in my heart(a place which even 3 porn stars could not fill )
The first Rainbow Six game was very very memorable. I'm an old school FPSer, so naturally my fondest memories come from games such as Corridor 7, Wolfenstein 3D, DooM I & II, Duke Nukem 3D, Rise of the Triad, Shadow Warrior, Quake and Heretic lol. All of these games had a certain charm to them and high replay value due to the large assortment of weapons. I mean, this stuff literally blew my mind at the time with their vast environments both urban and mystical. Plus, I tried on this backpack that enabled every impact to be felt lol. Good times.
Ah,the good ol' times when games where actually good, when games required you to have a brain to be able to compete them...what we've got today are a bunch of mindless shooters But still, there are a couple of gems every once in a while (ARMA series...)
my first fps was doom and wolfstein, so yeah I love both of them, but for modern fps, I like battlefield, although the new one doesnt really that good....
Duke Nukem 3D is the best FPS in the history of the world. Halo? Call of Duty? Half-Life? Quake? what are these?! never heard of them!
