    Hey guys,
I want to buy a copy of windows for my mac so I can run certain applications. I want to buy one from Amazon. Any links/suggestions? I'm looking into Windows XP for the good price and well, people say it's better than Vista. ;)

    Thanks.

Most people go for the newest version of stuff. May as well get all you can out of a PC

I want Windows to run some applications. I need info on which copy to buy, in case I install the wrong one. Any info guys? Amazon links would be nice.

I don't want Windows 7 or Vista, XP will do. It's cheaper and more reliable.

Yeah, but I want a link to buy it on amazon. I'm afraid I might buy some weird software update or something.

XP with the latest service pack (SP3?) should be good enough.

    +1 that's what I would recommend. I think SP3 is the latest.

Crossover is worth considering as you can run Windows apps on a Mac without Windows. Nowhere as polished as Boot Camp / Parallel / Fusion though.

Yeah, all of sudden he / she gets irritated for no clear reason.
At least she makes a good point, Windows isn't worth looking at, LOL.

the feature doesn't work for games though, from what i've read, just 'regular' programs.

boot camp works great. parallel has been full of issues forever. i don't even care whether they fixed them all now, they lost any future business from me.

unless of course you only care about gaming, then Windows is the ONLY OS worth looking at.
